The Orgreenic - Non-Stick Green Pan
Written By - Christina Petersen of FL

If you are like me, you have your favorite frying pan. The one you always call on for a perfect omelette or eggs. Mine is as old as I am, but I've been hesitant to get rid of it because they just don't make pans like they use to.

Recently, my fiance's coworker told him about the Orgreenic perfect green pan. He told him that it was sold at CVS and other retailers for $19.99 plus tax.
After some convincing he got one for me, and I tried it out.

I instantly fell in love.
The directions are simple and straight forward. Before your first use, you "season" the pan. *For anyone who doesn't know - seasoning is simply applying butter or Crisco to the surface, heating it till it is hot enough to slightly smoke, then letting it cool, and washing with warm soapy water.

The pan does everything the packaging says it does. NOTHING sticks to it (Not even melted caramel or burnt chocolate!!), and you don't even have to use butter! Perfect for healthier cooking! The price is very reasonable and worth every penny. My very first omelette out of my Orgreenic pan was 5 star perfection! Cleanup is amazingly easy. Since nothing sticks, washing is a snap.

The pan is not only for stove top cooking. It can be used in the oven and broiler as well! The handle is metal and never gets hot while on the stove. I got this pan over a week ago, and I have been telling everyone I know about it. The Orgreenic green line also features a griddle pan and a perfect flip pancake pan. Those two will be in my kitchen inventory very soon. This pan has NO downfalls! You will not be disappointed with your purchase, I guarantee it!

Sophia Grace and Rosie

*Rising Stars*

Have you heard about Sophia Grace and Rosie? Those 2 adorable little girls who started singing on The Ellen Show and have became the cutest little sprouts in Hollywood!! Sophia Grace is not shy at all and seems to really open up when she has a mic in her hands! I love it! I found them on YouTube a while back and watched them almost every night but I just recently picked back up on seeing what they were into and found some ADORABLE new videos that I had never seen before! These girls sing everything from "Super Bass" to "I knew you were Trouble" to "Thrift Shop"!!!! You GOT to watch some of their videos!

Those little girls remind me so much of my daughters. They both like to sing and dance but my blondie is the one who likes to sing for the camera! I'll have to upload a video or two of her singing Katy Perry and Carly Rae!

Incase you haven't seen Sophia Grace and Rosie preform.... here are a few of their videos from The Ellen Show

'Super Bass' with Nicki Minaj

'Thrift Shop'

'I Knew You Were Trouble'

Aren't they adorable??
Those girls are going to be stars!!!

Chopped - TV Review

My fiance and I have been watching alot of Chopped lately and I have finally decided that I am ready to do my own little review.

I have to say that those baskets of food would throw me off my game every time! One single expensive Truffle? Chocolate Lips, Duck Hearts and all that other odd food that they throw in those baskets are insane!
I've seen ingredients that not only have I NEVER heard of but some of them I can't pronounce! I'm not a big cooker so I would never apply to be a part of the show but I love watching it. I enjoy seeing what these awesome cooks can come up with when they get odd ingredients thrown at them. My fiance don't think that the contestants have enough time to truly plan and cook a good meal in the amount of time given in each round. I would have trouble but that's the challenge of the game right? See if you can beat the clock and serve up a delicious plate of food each time?

Chopped really knows how to throw in some great learning tips that us at home can use with our meals. I also like how the judges are always honest... if they think your food tasted like crap... Your going to get told that your food taste like crap! Blunt and honest! The perfect way to judge any contest. Chopped really knows how to find some great chefs and I LOVE the episodes where home-cooks are competing for the $10,000! I'm sure those people need it more than the pro chefs do. I also really enjoyed the Chopped All Stars episodes where the contestants were Celeb Chefs and a couple were Chopped Judges! The money they won all went to charity and I can't get over how awesome that is!

My over all opinion of Chopped is that it's a wonderful show that is not only entertaining but interesting and helpful as well. It'll keep you on the edge of your seat once that time starts running out!
ARE THEY GOING TO BE ABLE TO PLATE ALL THEIR FOOD ON TIME??

The timer goes off and everyone stops. The food is judged and someone is "Chopped"! The show starts with 4 contestants and ends with 1. After the first person gets sent home, the next battle begins!

Another basket is sat in-front of each contestant and once they open it, they are, once again, in for a BIG surprise  The mandatory ingredients are always pretty off the wall. Sometimes you will get a normal ingredient in the basket but I don't consider Salted Duck Egg Yokes and lamb hearts as normal.
DO YOU?
Some of the food I can't even pronounce but I still like to see what the end product will be. Alan (my fiance) and I try and guess who gets chopped. I've been pretty good about guessing right but we all have our down moments haha

Anyways....
Chopped is awesome and it distracts me from my blogging often! I can have the TV off and be working hard... as soon as Alan comes home, the TV gets turned up and the distractions begin!

I have to say though
Chopped is a pretty darn good distraction!

Have you watched Chopped on Food Network?

#ChallengeToWrite -- 9 favorite books of all time

Today for the #ChallengeToWrite, I would like to write about my favorite books... the topic from May 12, 2013

#ChallengeToWrite
May 12, 2013
Share your 9 favorite books of all time

Even though this topic may seem easier than some of the others... I'm going to have a few trouble picking 9 of my favorite books. Huh... Do I have to have them in order of how much I like them?? That won't happen.... Now lets get started!

  1. The Island of the Blue Dolphins - I read this book many times in school and even though I don't remember alot about it now, I know that it has always been one of my favorites.
  2. Twilight - Yes! I love me some sparkly vampires!!
  3. New Moon - What's not to love about adding a WareWolf to the mix?
  4. Eclipse - The Love Triangle keeps me on my toes and makes me even more interested to continue reading
  5. Breaking Dawn - The excitement and thrill of Bella turning into a Vampire FINALLY! And the birth of a half human and half vampire is enough for any girl to dread the end of a series!!
  6. Iron King - The action mixed with the love is very exciting and I couldn't put the book down!
  7. Iron Daughter - I have been known to dream of being A Summer Faerie Trying to Make it in the Mortal World and even have a facebook page about it. I love how faeries are names I know and the love story is amazing.
  8. Iron Queen - The story continues as Megan grows powerful, troubles don't end and the love keeps burning.
  9. Iron Knight - In the words of the Ice Prince, the ending to a beautiful story takes place and everyone loves a happy ending!
My original Secret Garden Book

So I guess that wasn't as hard as I thought it was. it would of been harder if my favorite books didn't come along with an awesome series!! I'm sure I could continued on an added Secret Garden, a childhood favorite of mine that I read over and over and still own my original copy! I could also add that one of my FAVORITE books is Marilyn - The Last Take..... anyone who knows me or reads my posts, knows that I am a HUGE Marilyn Monroe fan and always has been.

A few more of my favorite books

What are some of your favorite books?

Tick and Flea Repellent

It's not fun to sit and watch your 2 legged friends struggle because they have a tick or flea problem. The recipes below will help solve you furry friends bug problems!

For pets:

Mix 1 cup of water and 2 cups of distilled white vinegar into a spray bottle. Ticks hate the smell and taste of vinegar, and will be easily be repelled by this ingredient alone.
Next add two spoonfuls of vegetable or almond oil. (Both contain sulfur -- another natural tick repellent)
To make a repellent that will also deter fleas - Mix a few spoonfuls of lemon juice, citrus oil, or peppermint oil. They will all repel ticks and fleas while also creating a good smelling repellent.
Spray onto your pet's dry coat. Staying away from sensitive areas including: eyes, nose, mouth, and genitals.
When outdoors for an extended period of time - Spray this solution on your pets - two to three times per day. When indoor pets that only go outdoors for potty breaks - Spray the solution onto the animal's coat once a day.

For Humans:

A simple homemade repellent for people, can be made with a few inexpensive household ingredients.
In a spray bottle - Mix 2 cups of distilled white vinegar and 1 cup of water.
To make a scented solution (so you do not smell like bitter vinegar all day) Add about 20 drops of your favorite essential or bath oil.
Eucalyptus oil is a calm, soothing scent that also works as a tick repellent.
Peppermint and citrus oils give off a strong crisp scent that also repel ticks.
After mixing your solution - Spray onto your clothing, skin, and hair before going outdoors.
Reapply every four hours to keep ticks at bay.
Make sure you examine your skin and hair once you return back inside to make sure nothing sneaked by.

I got this information from a facebook post that caught my eye. I changed up a few words but for the most part, the above information is from Bev Taymon-Miller at Hillbilly Recipes. on Facebook - Want to see the Original Post?

#ChallengeToWrite -- If you could have personally witnessed one event in history...

#ChallengeToWrite
May 14, 2013
If you could have personally witnessed one event in history, what would you want to have seen?

If I would of witnessed one event in history it would of been the President John F Kennedy's Birthday Celebration at the third Madison Square Garden on May 10, 1962.

The place was full of famous people and the Birthday Cake was HUGE! (Watch the video below to see the cake) Performers sang and everyone was in ah when Marilyn Monroe "finally" made it to the stage (It use to be a big joke that Marilyn was late for EVERYTHING so they used that as a "prop" for Marilyn Monroe to enter the stage to sing. She was "Fashionably Late")

In nothing but a nude-colored sparkly dress that she could barley move in, Marilyn Monroe sang, in her sultry voice, one of the most memorable songs in history... "Happy Birthday, Mr. President"... Her voice was very seductive and quite and you could tell by the long silence that Marilyn was a bit nervous. But once she started singing, it was simply beautiful! She had re-written the traditional "Happy Birthday" song to be personalized for John F Kennedy, to fit the occasion.

Some of her lyrics included:

"Thanks, Mr. President
For all the things you've done
The battles that you've won
The way you deal with U.S. Steel
And our problems by the ton
We thank you so much"

Once the song was over, the crowd went crazy and John F Kennedy approached the stage. His exact words were: "I can now retire from politics after having had "Happy Birthday" sung to me in such a sweet and wholesome way!!"

Of course he was joking, and everyone laughed.

I would of LOVED to of been able to watch one of Marilyn's last performances, I would of also kept a good watch on people to see if I could of figured out if anything sneaky was going on around there. Rumors say that Marilyn spent the night in JFK's hotel room that night but their is no proof. I would of done my best to of talked to Marilyn and maybe... just maybe... found out if the Kennedy's had any wild plans about how they were going to keep Miss Marilyn Monroe quiet about her diary full of dirty little secrets.
I have an odd feeling that even though, noone has found Marilyn Monroe's diary yet, (not that I know of) that at one point, the FBI who was watching sooo many people back in the 60s, got their hands on that diary and destroyed it! It is said that Marilyn had many secrets in her diary that included plans and secrets from The White House aka JFK and Bobby (Robert) Kennedy along with (maybe) some dirt on Frank Sinatra and his dealings with the Mafia.

I don't believe that Marilyn died of just an overdose of pills. Deep down, I know it was something more.

RIP Marilyn Monore

Read my whole story about the night Marilyn Monroe sang "Happy Birthday Mr. President".

Below is a video of the beautiful Marilyn Monroe singing that memorable birthday song...

All opinions above are my own at My Kind Of Introduction. The video is from YouTube and Photo's by Yale Joel/Life Magazine/Time & Life Pictures/Getty Images.
Above information is from many resources through out my years of being a Marilyn Monroe fanatic! She is my idol.

I want to hear from you!!!!

Dear Hank,

I said good-bye today and it truly broke my heart. I know we will see each other again but we'll be missing you until then. I touched your chest and broke into tears... i didn't know what to say to your dad and seeing Dotty so hurt, made me break down. Yall were perfect together, brought out the best in each other. the perfect match for the perfect people. They say that the best die young but I don't understand why. Why can't the best thrive to be even better? Why take such a young life?

I was only able to go to the viewing and I hate that I am going to miss the funeral. alot of your friends are going to do "donuts" Hot-rods in your memory! I bet your looking down on us, very proud to see everyone who loves you. The funeral home was packed! People just kept coming! Everyone is going to miss you!

Dustin is taking it pretty hard. You and him were very close and we all wish we would of had more time with you. I've rose Duder out of a depression slum before and I am ready to do it again. It's going to be tough but we will get through it.

Jeff also came. He broke down and cried. We had some good times together. I'm thinking about asking Jeff if he wants to go walk to that abandoned house with me soon and see if we can sit on the porch and remember old times. The porch that we ran from.... Through the woods and Jeff landed in a hole... You and I stopped and you made sure I was safe. I wasn't scared, you and Jeff were there to protect me if anything went wrong. I miss those days.

I remember you hanging out in the "hood" with all of us. Dustin, Dotty, Mom and Pops, Butters and the rest of the Enka crew..... We had some wonderful times. I saw April and Zeke, Nicole and Misha. Butters and Rosco, Brandon and Melody. Everyone showed up to pay their respects. And I mean EVERYONE!!

Don't worry about Dotty, we'll take care of her. She's a strong girl and has lots of loving people around her. I also know that not only are your watching down on her... Mom and Pops are too! Yall keep watch from Heaven and I'll keep watch from Earth. I won't let her fall and I won't let Dustin fall either.

You have my word!

You lived a great life! You were happily married to the woman of your dreams, had wonderful friends and always kept your head up. Never angry for too long. I don't remember seeing you mad at all! Down to earth and quiet. As sweet as a teddy bear! We love you more than you will ever know!

Hank... You will forever be missed and remembered in our hearts and memories!

It's your turn to relax.... We will see you again one day!

RIP Richard "Hank" Edwards

Love always,
Your Friend Autumn
