Albert's Perfect Pet - A Children's Book Review

#Sponsored by Donna Zappala

Every child asks for a pet atleast once throughout their childhood and it can be tough conversation when you go to explain why some animals may not be the best pet for your child. I ran across a children's book named "Albert's Perfect Pet" that's about just that... Finding the perfect pet in a store full of many different pets.

I met Donna Zappala, the author of "Albert's Perfect Pet", about a month ago and was quickly interested in her children books. I was overjoyed when she agreed to a review! My daughters love to read but they love to be read to even more, so that's what they got... The chance to sit down with their daddy and read a new book.

'Albert's Perfect Pet' is a wonderful children's book about a little boy who decides that he wants a pet of his own, just like his friend. His parents agree that he would be a great pet owner so off to the pet store they went. While at the pet store, Albert learns about the responsibilities of many different pets and finally finds the perfect one.

Loran and Jade couldn't get enough of the pets that were mentioned in the story. Loran kept saying "A lizard ain't the perfect pet, It gets 6 feet tall and wants to sit in your lap!" Jade simply decided that she wanted a fish (We've been talking about getting a few fish for a while now, but Albert has helped to amp up the desire :) Looks like we'll be heading to the pet store soon!!
(Maybe we'll do it for Christmas!!)

This book is great for helping kids understand the responsibilities of owning a pet and how each pet have different needs. 'Albert's Perfect Pet' is a wonderful book for children who are starting to ask for their own pet but don't completely understand what's expected from a new pet owner. Kids will learn about pet responsibilities as well as enjoy the story of Albert's trip to the pet store to choose his perfect pet.

'Albert's Perfect Pet' is available for purchase on Amazon!
Use the links below to learn more and view prices:

There is also an Albert's Perfect Pet T-Shirt available on Amazon too! I just happen to run across it while getting the book links and was surprised! It comes in many colors but I like the black one myself :)

Review: Fizzion's Pet Stain & Odor Remover WORKS Amazing on Kid Stains too!

#Sponsored by Fizzion

Tough stains are a headache. You can scrub and scrub but when nothing happens, it's natural to get frustrated and give up. I have 2 daughters who LOVE to eat in the living room, which means that my couch is not as clean and pretty as it was when we first got it. A friend told me about Fizzon and how it helped her clean up tough stains and remove stuck around smells, I figured it was worth a try. Fizzion is a Pet Stain and Odor remover and even is said to pretty much work miracles. You simply fill up a spray bottle with water and drop in a tablet of Fizzion, once the tablet dissolves, Spray it on the stain, Scrub and vala!

I don't have any pets at the moment but children messes are just as bad as pet messes so my fiance and I tested it out on our couch and was  amazed with the results. After spraying the solution onto our couch and giving it a little scrub, the stains were gone! Our cushions look better than ever and I never thought we could have our clean couch back, but we do! No more juice stains, no food smells, not even the stains and scent from my neighbors baby who over wet his diaper! It's ALL gone! I'm almost speechless! I took before and after pictures but they are stuck on my other computer at the moment. As soon as my fiance gets it working again, I'll add the photo's. (They're unbelievable) To make it even better, Fizzion is eco-friendly and has won many awards to prove their wonderful miracle powers!

If you have a pet or messy child and are in need of some "Super Cleaner" then Fizzion is the choice for you! I promise that you won't be disappointed with the cleaning magic that's stored into a Fizzion tablet!

The Dogs Bark Bakery - 100% Natural Gourmet Dog Treats

Is your 4 legged friend fit to be a Royal Pup?
How does Natural Gourmet Dog Treats sound?

This post is sponsored by:
A month or so ago I was contacted by a social media manger who had many clients for who she worked for. She asked if I would be interested in working with a few of her clients, she named off a few of them and there was no way I could turn her down! She worked with some wonderful brands and I couldn't wait to get started. The Dogs Bark Bakery was one of those brands!

Rhonda, the Owner/Baker of The Dogs Bark Bakery, makes 100% Natural Gourmet Dog Treats out of her very own kitchen! She uses only human grade, calorie conscious ingredients, that are locally grown when available. The dog treats have no meat or meat byproducts and are handmade to satisfy even the pickiest doggie taste buds! Dog Treats from The Dogs Bark Bakery come in 2 different sizes and in many many flavors!! Since the treats are preservative free, refrigeration is recommended.
(There was a sticker on top of the treat box to remind me!)

The Sizes includeBarks - For the big dogs & Bites - For the smaller dogs

What caught my attention about The Dogs Bark Bakery? All those delicious sounding flavors, that's what!!  You get to chose between 9 different flavors of dog treats! 100% Natural Gourmet Dog Treats -- That makes it 10x better!

The Flavors Include:
  • Grain Free Carrot Cookies
  • Tomato Garlic Biscotti
  • Vegan Blueberry Banana Delights
  • Cinnamon Rolls
  • Pumpkin Pie Bites
  • Banana Biscotti
  • Peanut Butter Oatmeal Cookies
  • Parmesan Crackers
  • Breath Refreshers
I don't personally have a dog living at home with me but I do have one just 3 minutes away, at my best-friend Dustin's house. His name is Zeus! He's a big baby and the coolest dog ever!! I decided that Zeus deserved some gourmet dog treats, every dog deserves to feel like a King every now and then, right? Dustin and I went through every treat flavor and finally settled on Peanut Butter Oatmeal Cookies, in Bark Size! Zeus ain't no little puppy, he may think he's a lap dog but the truth is... Zeus is a big ol' baby and the coolest pitbull ever! Don't let the name Pitbull scare you off, he couldn't and wouldn't hurt a fly... Unless his nails aren't cut then you may get a scratch or 2 but that's just because he wants to play.

When the treats arrived, I was super excited to let Zeus try them! I couldn't help but take a sneak-peek at the cookies to see what they looked like, I found cool looking stars with the natural ingredients very visible! (The packaging was really neat too, the treats came in a brown box held together by a piece of twine) I couldn't wait to show Dustin and Zeus... Then life happened and I wasn't able to see Zeus for a couple weeks. (School, Family and the Unexpected - Unfortunately delayed my blog work alot during the month of May) But I never once forgot about Zeus' gourmet dog treats from The Dogs Bark Bakery! Luckily I was able to visit Zeus a couple days ago and I'm happy to say that he LOVES his new treats! Since I'm having to use my phone camera until I fix my good one, I wasn't able to get a visible photo of Zeus eating the treat! He gobbled them up way too fast!!! I don't know about you, but that tells me just one thing -- Zeus enjoys his Peanut Butter Oatmeal Cookies! He kept wanting more but I had Dustin put them in the fridge so he could save some later. (Maybe when he does an awesome trick!)

All in all, my experience with The Dogs Bark Bakery was a wonderful one and I plan on purchasing more dog treats soon! If you have a doggie friend and would like to give them the Royal Treatment when they do something awesome, then I highly recommend the 100% Natural Gourmet Dog Treats from The Dogs Bark Bakery! They look yummy, even though I'm not brave enough to try them myself!

To learn more about The Dogs Bark Bakery and view all of their wonderful gourmet selections: Visit The Dogs Bark Bakery Website or View them on Facebook and TwitterRumor has it that The Dogs Bark Food Truck may be coming soon! You can track their comings and goings via social media.

I was able to get these photo's of Zeus and his treat. Not the best photo's but atleast you can see what's happening!

It's Caturday...on Sunday!!

I know it's no longer Caturday... It's Sunday - but work with me here :-)

When I was a kid, I remember always having a cat. My mama has always been a cat person and it wasn't odd for us to have 6 or 7 cats at one time! We never had more than 2 at a time inside, that's a plus! I loved every cat we owned and even had my a cat named Pooh Bear but he ran away... As an adult, I never wanted inside animals, I don't like the fur everywhere among many other things that bothers me abut inside pets. But in 2010, our neighbors had 2 female cats who were getting ready to pop! The first litter was ready just days before Jade's birthday and even though Alan was at work... we ended up owning a kitten because the girls insisted on being one home. My fiance was okay with it though because we were talking about getting the girls a pet anyways. Since Jade's birthday was coming up, we let her name the kitten.... She named her Tinkerbell but often called her Tinkers. (She was really into Tinkerbell the faerie during that time) TInkers was so tiny and got stuck in a tree before she even made it in the house for the first time! It was great!

A couple weeks later the other litter was ready to find new homes. You guessed it... Another kitten moved into my house. Just as Tinkerbell was getting use to her new home, she gets a tiny roommate! Loran's birthday was creeping near so she chose the name for our new kitten. That tiny little orange kitten got named Punkin Pie... Not Pumpkin - She got called Punkin often. Both kittens were girls. We loved those cats and they even moved a couple times with us. My daughters could do anything with those cats and they would just let 'em! We kept them for a couple years but ended up not being able to keep them.

Tinkerbell got pregnant and we let her stay with a friend until she had her babies and we never seen her again :( Punkin got let out at my daddy-paws shop and he took care of her there until he believes a lady who lives near by may have took her inside, which is good since Punkin Pie was an inside/outside cat, but spent 80% of her time inside.
It's been 3 years and we still think about our cats sometimes. The girls remember them well and I've had to promise to get them another pet again soon. I leave my door open to much during the summer to get a cat and I don't like dogs in my home more than I don't like cats inside! So I'm not sure what kind of pet we'll get but I'm sure I'll find out sooner or later.

Do you have a pet that's become a part of the family?
Or are you missing your four legged friend?

Tick and Flea Repellent

It's not fun to sit and watch your 2 legged friends struggle because they have a tick or flea problem. The recipes below will help solve you furry friends bug problems!

For pets:

Mix 1 cup of water and 2 cups of distilled white vinegar into a spray bottle. Ticks hate the smell and taste of vinegar, and will be easily be repelled by this ingredient alone.
Next add two spoonfuls of vegetable or almond oil. (Both contain sulfur -- another natural tick repellent)
To make a repellent that will also deter fleas - Mix a few spoonfuls of lemon juice, citrus oil, or peppermint oil. They will all repel ticks and fleas while also creating a good smelling repellent.
Spray onto your pet's dry coat. Staying away from sensitive areas including: eyes, nose, mouth, and genitals.
When outdoors for an extended period of time - Spray this solution on your pets - two to three times per day. When indoor pets that only go outdoors for potty breaks - Spray the solution onto the animal's coat once a day.

For Humans:

A simple homemade repellent for people, can be made with a few inexpensive household ingredients.
In a spray bottle - Mix 2 cups of distilled white vinegar and 1 cup of water.
To make a scented solution (so you do not smell like bitter vinegar all day) Add about 20 drops of your favorite essential or bath oil.
Eucalyptus oil is a calm, soothing scent that also works as a tick repellent.
Peppermint and citrus oils give off a strong crisp scent that also repel ticks.
After mixing your solution - Spray onto your clothing, skin, and hair before going outdoors.
Reapply every four hours to keep ticks at bay.
Make sure you examine your skin and hair once you return back inside to make sure nothing sneaked by.

I got this information from a facebook post that caught my eye. I changed up a few words but for the most part, the above information is from Bev Taymon-Miller at Hillbilly Recipes. on Facebook - Want to see the Original Post?

A Giveaway for your 4-legged Friends

No more worries about pet shampoos irritating our 4 legged friends' skin anymore! John Paul has come up with a product that is safe and great for the animals in our life.

This review and giveaway is hosted by The Momma And Boys

John Paul, who is also the co-founder of Paul Mitchell band testing on animals with his products over 30 years ago. All his products are "tested on humans first" and are pH balanced so they do not irritate our pets' sensitive skin.

This is my doggy Nibbler. He suffers from sensitive skin and food allergies so we always have to be careful with what we use to bath him and feed him. So I choose to review the John Paul Pet Care Three Pack Tea Tree Oil. I felt like this helped Nibbler out a lot since most dog shampoos leave his skin flaky and itchy. The John Paul Pet Care kit came with the tea tree oil shampoo, a spray in condition, and pet care wipes. They all help moisturize his skin and keep his coat clean and shiny.

This is my puppy, Daisy. Even though she is a puppy I was able to use the products on her since it is made for sensitive skin. John Paul's product worked great on both dogs

Win a Dog Bandana in The Diapers for Dogs Giveaway

Review and Giveaway hosted by The Momma And Boys!

Diapers for dogs allowed us to review a dog diaper for my little Daisy. They are really easy to put on the dog. It Velcro's around the dogs shoulders and around their hips. They even have a spot to put the tail through which is excellent.

After putting this diaper for my dog on I could tell that it was really comfortable for her. She was able to sit down and move around just fine without any problems.

Inside the diaper they have a spot for you to insert absorbent pads. This diaper for dogs came in handy for me when my dog went into heat. I was able to make sure everything was under control. The best part about it is that the diaper is washable so no need to always waste money on diapers or other products for when your dog goes into heat.

This picture of the bandana's is what you will be entering the giveaway to win!

Enter LuLu's Pet Wash Giveaway! *Live*

Lulu's Pet Wash is made strictly for your pets by a company called School of Wash. It is made to help make your animals smell nice, which we all know how much we always want our pets smelling nice and fresh. Nothing is worse than a stinky dog making our houses smell icky! We can wash and wash our dogs but once they dry.... they still stink. I got this wonderful opportunity to bring you this awesome pet care giveaway. Below you will read one bloggers experience with LuLu's Pet Wash and learn how to enter this wonderful giveaway that she has allowed me to be a part of and bring to all of you!

I was so excited to receive my Lulu's Pet Care Kit for my dogs.  They have tons of scent options to choose from and the one I choose was banana coconut.  When the shampoo and spritz came I could not wait to try it out on my pets!

This is Ms. Daisy and she is all excited for her bath to try out her new shampoo and spritz. My dogs were really needing to be bathed.  Lulu's Pet Care Kit helped make her not stink anymore.  And I must say the banana coconut smell is amazing.  I love the way it makes my puppy smell afterwards.

Now this guy is Mr. Nibbler!  Since he is a lot bigger dog he usually stinks the worse.  He also suffers from dry skin a lot of the times.  This stuff not only did wonders on the way he smelled, but he also has not been itching as much after being bathed with it.  Also, as we all know that not long after bathing our dogs they stink.  With LuLu's Pet Care Kit the smell last a while on the pet and when it does fade you are able to use the spritz which I just love having on hand to help freshen up their coat with the smell.

The Giveaway goes live at Midnight TONIGHT!
