It's October!!!

The season of falling leaves and changing colors!

Not only do I share a name with the "Autumn Season" but my birthday just passed as well! What can I say... I'm a Fall Baby! And YES I believe in faeries! Right now in the Realm of Fae, all kinds of different faeries are getting ready for the fall season! Some are ready to paint the changing colors while others may be creeping through the night, waiting for the perfect mortal to scare! 

I know, I sound insane but I'm a big fantasy believer and nothing can change that... I've got a creative brain!

I got an idea!!!

I'm going to create my own Faeries! They won't be as pretty or detailed as Kiri's but I believe the thought process behind the idea will make up for them not being so professional-like!

Sorry for being so vague but I believe my faeries are best kept as a surprise for now :)

Don't you just love the random thought process? Great ideas can be born in a matter of seconds!!

I'll let you know when my faeries are complete, they're going to be super special. I promise!

Happy July everyone!!!!

Don't you just love all the warm weather? I love Summer, I do dread being hot and sweaty but I would rather be hot then cold. My fiance always says that you can always add more layers but you can only take off so many clothes... which is very true but I DO NOT like being cold! If a cold breeze blows my way... I get a cold chill and need to cover up. That's just me :)

Isn't that a beautiful July Faerie in the photo above? I have the whole collection on monthly Faeries and I found them randomly online one night while searching for inspration for my short stories that I write sometimes. I just found out recently who the artist is! I copied a small bit from her site to let you know alittle bit about Kiri Leonard.

Mermaids and Faeries -- Fact or Fable?

Warning -- This post is full of strong opinions that may be very different than your own. All opinions are my own, I was NOT influenced by anything or anyone. I am not trying to disrespect anyone or their beliefs. I'm just simply stating my opinions on the topics below.

Have you ever wondered how we became the way we are?

• Why is our skin smooth?
• Why do we only have hair growing on certain parts of our bodies?
• Why is there a type of webbing between our fingers and toes... Some more than others?
• How can some people be GREAT tree climbers and others can't even make it off the ground?
• What about all those wonderful swimmers we have and then there are the people who swim like a rock...
• Did we slowly transform into the people we are today from Apes?
• Did some of those apes go into the water and turn into what we know today as Mermaids?

I wasn't able to watch the Animal Planet movie that was on TV this past Sunday, I completely forgot that it was on TV but I was able to watch the first documentary that came out before Sunday's viewing - Mermaids: The Body Found. (I found it on YouTube, it's in different parts but I was able to find a playlist that had the whole movie in order so all I had to do was sit back and watch.) If you would like to view Mermaids: The Body Found, the links you will find in this post are to the playlist that I was able to find on YouTube. I want to warn you that there are 9 parts and all together they last over an hour. But if you are into Mermaids or Science, then you won't be disappointed.

In the documentary mentioned above, they gave lots of very convincing facts and points that have me even more convinced that mermaids are real. I have always been a believer of faeries, hobs, mermaids and even other realms full of people and creatures that we have no idea even exist. The documentary also mentions that the government is covering alot of things up and hiding things from us. Why does everyone think that the government is so honest? Why do we believe everything they say when in all realization... they are normal people just like you and I. We all lie every now and then and if we find something really awesome and don't want other people knowing about it... We'll hide it with all of our might! Why wouldn't the government do the same? Why do we depend on them for our facts? The Navy, and everyone else have said that "No humanoid body has been found and there is no such thing as mermaids and faeries" not in those exact words but the point is, If they say those creatures don't exist then they are Facts and we should believe them and disregard everything the scientists' discovered and had files on... until they were "stolen and destroyed" by the Navy and other government officials. (as mentioned in the documentary -- Mermaids: The Body Found)

Many believe that the stories of these unknown beings are myths. But if they are in fact fake then why has they're been many stories from people all over the world, who have had no contact with each other, all talking and drawing about the same beings?! Something in the water that is half human and half fish, tiny people who live in caves and in the forests and hills of MANY different lands on this earth.

People have been mentioning mermaids and faeries in their writings and drawings since the beginning of time!

Just a couple examples.

You can do an internet search and find MANY photos and articles about the mythic beings that have been talked about for ever! They're has been draws found on the walls of caves, crumbling transcripts full of stories and drawings of mermaids and the fae, along with many more animals and creatures; some identified and some not.

Who says that all of this is fake?

Because there is no proof of a living mermaid or a faerie or a tiny human that lives in underground caves and call themselves hobs.... They do not exist! We have continuously been discovering new species of animals, insects and marine life throughout many years, up to this year! If a giant squid can stay hidden in the ocean for millions of years, why can't mermaids? If there are many different types of animals then how can humans be the only mammal that is smart enough to walk upright and live the way we do? I personal believe that there are other "people" that are just as smart as humans, maybe a bit smarter, that know how to live off the land, make weapons and who have big brains that can do wonderful things, like ours can. We are not superior to all these creatures. What makes us so special?

Since we have no living proof that mermaids and faeries exist.... many say that we are to believe that they are Fake -- Just stories that people made up for entertainment or crazy people seeing things that were not really there. (It's said that the sailors who saw mermaids were mistaking manatees for mermaids because they were in the sun for too long, making them delirious. I don't know about you but I believe I can tell the difference from a BIG manatee from a half woman/half fish, really hot and tired or not!)

We are all to believe that when we die, our souls go to Heaven and we meet our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Not to be controversial and start arguments but... Where is our proof? The Bible. Written words found many years ago. 

What I'm trying to say is that no one really knows what's out there. No one really knows if we came from apes, turned to mermaids, ended up humans, or if was it something else that brought us here completely  No one knows because we wasn't alive back then and couldn't see it with our own eyes. It's all just a "he say - she say" ordeal and it has been known to make alot of people mad at each other. I do NOT want to make anyone mad. I just have a very strong opinion about some things. If I sit and truly think something out and break it down in my head.... I end up thinking too hard and can get into a debate with my fiance.

Tackling Illustrations

So I've been writing stories and poems for as long as I can remember. Most of my stories are about Faeries and a Fantasy world while my poems seem to be more along the lines of lost love or dark depression. I'm not sure why or how 2 pieces of writing from the same author can be so different but that's the way I've always been. 

At the moment I have a couple faerie stories going and I have the opportunity to get one of them in book form. (Not to sale in stores but to have a solid copy for my daughters and myself.)

My only problem is the illustrations. A faerie story can't be printed into book if it doesn't have pictures! 

When in Middle and High school, I was a decent artist. I took lots of Art classes and LOVED every bit of it! I've always been into art and designs, all my interest are in the creative field.  But I never claimed to be a really good drawer. Drawing people has always been my weakest link and it just happens that faeries are people.....

I'm stumped...... I know a few people who are great artist and a couple has agreed to work with me but it's a really busy time in everyone's life right now that nothing seems to be lining up very well. 

I don't want the illustrations to be complex or fancy, I'm thinking along the lines of decorative and simple. Kinda like these cute little owls from Oopsy Daisy...

Since I can't draw... maybe I can come up with another way to get the illustrations done.

I have 2 chances to get my book printed and one of those chances is less than a week away!!

I like the crafty feel of the owls in the photo so I think I'll go back to my crafting roots and see where that road takes me. I'll let you know how it goes!

I  hope I can hit the dead line!!

I gotta get to planning!!

A Wonderful Faerie Book for Young Girls - A Fairy Ballet

"A Fairy Ballet"

If you have or know a little girl who loves faeries, then the book 'A Fairy Ballet' will for sure put a smile on her face.

The story is about a group of faerie sisters that get invited to a special party by The Fairy God-Mother. All the guests that attend the party are requested to bring a gift for the royals.... A performance for the King and Queen. Each performance has to be a "Gift straight from the Heart"
The 7 best-friends are very excited to be invited to the party but they have trouble figuring out what they want to preform. After lots of thinking, they decide to have a ballet where each faerie comes up with a dance with pin-points on their talent and what they love. Then they come together at the end to compete the ballet with a group dance.
One of the faeries gets nervous and continues to mess up during practice, She's afraid that she will mess up in-front of the King and Queen. Her sisters comfort her by reminding her that if she dances from her heart that she won't notice all the people and won't be nervous anymore.
In the end, the ballet is a hit and everyone claps and cheers.

Thru My Eyes ~ The moral of the story is that it doesn't matter how much something cost or how big or small it is......
If it comes from the heart... It's Something Special!




I bought the book,  'A Fairy Ballet' from a Scholastic Book Order from my daughters' school and I couldn't of made a better choice!
My daughters love faeries and this book is one of their favorites. I like how it helps them understand that nothing is perfect but as long as you have your family and friends...
You can do anything you put your heart into!

I recommend this book to any parent or grand-parent who is looking for a special story to read to that special little faerie lover in your life!

All you need to know about Tinkerbell - From her beginning in 1904 to her continuing success in 2012

..:: All About The Lovely Tinkerbell ::..

(Properly spelled Tinker Bell, normally misspelled as Tinkerbell. I will be using both spellings in this post.)

Everyone knows who Tinkerbell is! Either you grew up with the tiny faerie who runs with Peter Pan and dislikes 'The Terrible Wendy Bird' aka Wendy Darling, the human girl that Peter Pan starts crushing on; Or you grew up with the adventure seeking pixie faerie who leads her group of friends on exciting  travels and normally ends up in some sort of trouble. Anyone who is over the age of 1 has seen this adorable blonde faerie somewhere.

Her picture is EVERYWHERE, in stores, on TV, in the beginning of almost every Disney movie, clothes, blankets, I can go on and on and on! The obsession is crazy, but I have to admit that I have a tiny obsession myself. I've always LOVED any and all faeries so Tinkerbell is no different. About a week ago I started thinking about how much I really knew about Tink.... So I did some research and actually learned alot! I decided to share what I learned.

Other than her movie adventures, do you really know who Tinkerbell is? Here's a little bit of information that you may or may not of known about Tinkerbell, her Life and her growing History.

 Tinkerbell first appeared on our TV screens in 1904 as Peter Pan's trusty faerie side-kick. J.M. Barrie had no idea when he wrote the playwright 'Peter Pan' that this fictional character he created as a faerie named Tinker Bell was going to be so popular... Even more popular than Peter Pan himself. I'm sure he never dreamed that she would live on to have her own adventures through out Neverland with her own movie series. Tinker Bell has become the unofficial mascot of The Walt Disney Company and flies across the screen in the beginning of almost every Disney movie these days!

Tinkerbell, also known by her nickname Tink, has been in lots of movies throughout the years including 'Peter Pan',  'Peter and Wendy', 'Peter Pan in Scarlet', 'The Black Cauldron', 'Caption Hook' and of course, her recent movies including 'Tinkerbell', 'Tinkerbell and The Lost Treasure', 'Tinkerbell and The Great Fairy Rescue' and the new movie that came out on October 23, 2012 called 'Tinkerbell and The Secret Of The Wings'.

Tink is a Tinker Faerie, which means that she fixes things. Such as pots, kettles, baskets and anything that's broken and needs alittle fixin! Tinker Faeries use to just make and fix things using the stuff they could find in nature, but once Tink came along, she slowly changed things for the better. Now along with their natural tools, Tinker Faeries use "Lost Things" aka Things washed up on the beaches of Neverland... Once owned by humans before they lost them. The "Lost Things" are a big help with getting things done in Neverland alot faster than before. All thanks to Tinkerbell!

To humans, Tink's voice sounds like a tiny bell, ringing with every word she speaks. To talk to humans she draws pictures and acts things out with to let them know what she is trying to say. Kind of like the game of charades. Tinkerbell gets captured in 'The Great Fairy Rescue' movie and becomes really close friends with a little girl named Lizzie.

I completely overlooked this... Did you realize that the Original Tinker Bell carried a sparkly wand and the new Tinker Bell gets pixie dust sprinkled over her head every day and every now and then carries a leaf bag of pixie dust!? She no longer carries her trusty wand with the star on top! I wonder if she lost it somewhere...
