When we buy our kids outfits, deep down we understand that the individual pieces of clothing won't always be worn together. Mix and match is what helps allow our children to develop a style of their own and feel more independent. So I decided to shake things up a bit and try out some mix and matching of my own.... I've created an outfit using items from all 3 stores - Gymboree, Crazy 8 as well as Janie and Jack! Tell me what you think! 

If you haven't already noticed, I have a love of color and not just any color, bold and bright colors that scream "Look at me!" With this outfit I decided on a lemony yellow theme which isn't too "in your face" but isn't bland and boring either. I begin with the Eyelet Bow Knit Top from Janie and Jack. I love the sophisticated design that still allows our little girls to look classy without looking all grown-up! Once again, the bow neckline had me from the start. (I literally just now realized that all outfits have a neckline feature, it's wasn't purposely done but I like it!) I've always enjoyed the colors white and yellow being paired together because white seems to soften the boldness of the color yellow and is a sure match for this top. Adding to the already girly design is fluttered sleeves and a keyhole button closure in the back. Perfect for any girly girl who likes her colors! (Original price is $24.00 and is now on sale for just $9.49) To help mellow out the yellowness - I paired the Eyelet Bow Knit Top with some stylish Skinny Zipper Hem Jeans from Gymboree. (Regularly priced at $34.95 and can be found for just $14.99 for a limited time only) I didn't use to be a big fan of skinny jeans until my youngest started wearing them, which showed me how cute they actually are - The slim legs help the look of being taller and when paired with the right top and shoes - can be very classy and stylish all at once! The skinny zipper hem jeans have 5 pockets and are fitted through the hip and thigh area and aren't made too tight at the bottom, which means that little feet can slide in and out with ease. When it came down to choosing shoes for my mix and match Back to School outfit I went with a sandal so the skinny bottom of the jeans didn't have to be covered or bothered in any way. What I love about the Leather Ruffle Sandals from Janie & Jack is the simple but different design - instead of the regular straight straps, these have a folded fabric-look, ruffle look that gives them character. Not to mention the color matches very well with the yellow top and white jeans. The first few weeks of school is normally still warm enough for sandals so why not take advantage the freesome and let those little toes breath as much as they can before the chill rolls in?! Saving time with Sally Hansen Triple Shine

I recently had the opportunity to try out a bottle of Sally Hansen - Triple Shine Fingernail Polish in the shade: "Dive In" (A turquoise color) and was truly surprised. It arrived inside of my Influenser #VioletVoxBox, among many other goodies that I couldn't wait to try out. I ended up being in the middle of packing & moving when the VoxBox arrived and it took a couple extra days before I was even able to test out the polish, but it was worth the wait, for sure.
I'd heard of Triple Shine before but never had the opportunity to try any out until now. At first glace, I wasn't too sure about the color, but once I saw it on my nails, I had no more doubts. "Dive In" must stand for Turquoise in the land of Sally Hansen, and I absolutely love it!
Triple Shine Polish gives you a solid layer of color with just one simple coat, add a second coat and it looks even better! Not to mention the incredible shine that could easily pass for a clear coat. No joke, this polish can honestly cut your nail session time in half! Which leaves more time for MMA and dance class - or any other activity that your family may be interested in. I can't promise that you won't chip a nail though... that situation is almost impossible to avoid.
I've been wearing my new polish for a few weeks and I'm surprised at how well the polish has survived my crazy life. I don't often get a chance to paint my nails but I'd choose color over dull & natural any day! I plan to pick up a couple more bottles from the Triple Shine line very soon.

Looking Fabulous in Our Old Navy White Jeans

Being a stay at home mom who doesn't get out much, I don't get new clothes for myself often. All of the new clothes that get brought into my home are for my 2 growing daughters.

Not long after receiving my coupons, my family and I headed to Old Navy, in the Asheville Mall, to pick me up some new jeans.

As soon as we walked into Old Navy, my daughters started talking to the plastic people in the front of the store!! It was great!!!!

I didn't have to look far before I saw the long tables fill of lots and lots of white jeans!! There were capris, skinny jeans, flair legs, boot cut and a couple other different styles of white jeans to choose from. Old Navy's white jeans have really cool names other than the normal "Skinny Jeans" name. Things like: Diva, Sweetheart, Flirt, Rockstar and Boyfriend. I enjoyed looking through all the jeans and reading their names. My daughters were too busy trying to figure out which one of the fake people looked like them. I don't believe they've ever seen little plastic kids until our Old Navy trip. (I told you, we don't get out much haha)

I settled on the Diva Boot Cut jeans. I don't wear skinny jeans or capris often but I've always been a fan of the Flair-Legged and Boot Cut style. Old Navy jeans are made a bit smaller than other brands so I picked me out a couple pairs and headed to the fitting room.

First try and they were a perfect!

I love the way my new Old Navy White Jeans fit! You can wear Old Navy White jeans with anything... Heading out to the mall with some friends? Mel also headed out to get her new jeans on the same day I did, she chose the capris. They look awesome with a pair of sandals and a cute tank-top.

Since I modeled my new Old Navy White Jeans with a casual look, Mel wanted to show you a different way for wearing capris.

When you think of capris, you think of short pants that you would wear on a warm day. Most girls wear them with tennis shoes, flats or flip-flops/sandals. But have you ever thought about wearing them with tall boots? You don't have to wear skinny jeans to look good in a hot pair of boots....

I love how Mel paired her capris with some high boots and black shirt. She added a pop of color with a hot pink undershirt to help bring the whole outfit together. I think she did a wonderful job! She looks fabulous!!

All in all... Mel and I love our new Old Navy White Jeans!
