Saving time with Sally Hansen Triple Shine

I recently had the opportunity to try out a bottle of Sally Hansen - Triple Shine Fingernail Polish in the shade: "Dive In" (A turquoise color) and was truly surprised. It arrived inside of my Influenser #VioletVoxBox, among many other goodies that I couldn't wait to try out. I ended up being in the middle of packing & moving when the VoxBox arrived and it took a couple extra days before I was even able to test out the polish, but it was worth the wait, for sure.
I'd heard of Triple Shine before but never had the opportunity to try any out until now. At first glace, I wasn't too sure about the color, but once I saw it on my nails, I had no more doubts. "Dive In" must stand for Turquoise in the land of Sally Hansen, and I absolutely love it!
Triple Shine Polish gives you a solid layer of color with just one simple coat, add a second coat and it looks even better! Not to mention the incredible shine that could easily pass for a clear coat. No joke, this polish can honestly cut your nail session time in half! Which leaves more time for MMA and dance class - or any other activity that your family may be interested in. I can't promise that you won't chip a nail though... that situation is almost impossible to avoid.
I've been wearing my new polish for a few weeks and I'm surprised at how well the polish has survived my crazy life. I don't often get a chance to paint my nails but I'd choose color over dull & natural any day! I plan to pick up a couple more bottles from the Triple Shine line very soon.

REVIEW: Nail Cones - The Polish Perfector!

I don't know about you, but there are days when I have serious problems when it comes to painting my nails. It never fails, that atleast one finger ends up painted on and some days they all have a dot or more of bright fingernail polish that couldn't stay on my nail. So what do I do? What every woman does... Use my thumb nail and get off the extra polish and just hope that I don't mess up my other nails. 

While visiting one of my favorite facebook groups, I ran across an opportunity that had the possibility to solve my messy fingernail polish problem and I couldn't help myself but to try it out. They're called Nail Cones!

Nail Cones is a round sticker with a cut-out at the bottom to make the sticker look like a moon. A moon with an Ice Cream Cone design. Cindy, the creator or Nail Cones, was having the same troubles as me when it came to painting her nails and after noticing her daughters' nails looking similar to hers, she was determined to find a better solution then a Q-tip and finger nail polish remover. (I don't use that option often due to me removing some of the polish from my nails almost everytime I try!) After trying out a few different designs, Cindy finally found the perfect cut and sticker shape and started using her homemade creation herself. She ended up telling a few friends about her stickers and before she knew it, she had a business on her hands and came up with the name of Nail Cones!

Nail Cones come in 3 different size options on each sticker sheet so you can make sure each finger gets the best fit.

Once you decide your size:

•  Place the sticker under your nail (Ice Cream Cone up) and wrap the 2 pointed edges around your nail to hide the skin and leave just your fingernail exposed. (Make sure it's tightly fitted and stuck down.)
• Simply paint your nails using any polish that you desire.
• Keep the cones on until your nails are dry.
• Finally, slowly and carefully remove the Nail Cones and admire your salon style paint job!!

They really work!

I was extremely surprised at how neat my nails turned out once I finished! I only found a small amount of polish on my finger and that was only because one of my stickers wasn't stuck down good enough and I forgot to fix it before I started painting.

It's so easy that I'm going to show my daughters how to use them and see how their nails turn out. Loran and Jade are only 7 and 6 but since they've been stealing my nail polish for years, they've figured out how to keep MOST of the polish on their nails but the skin is sure to wear a bit of polish as well. I believe that Nail Cones are great and super easy so I see no reason why my little ones can't use them as well. (With mommy watching over of course.) These little Ice Cream Cone stickers are so convenient and nifty that they would make wonderful stocking stuffers for Tweens and Teens this Holiday season! Frugal ways to Enhance your Beauty & Sooth Your Body & Soul

Today I have 2 recipes that I'm going to share with you that I've had since I was in Elementary School! I remember buying a DIY book from the Book Fair, I believe it was my 5th grade year, that was full of neat little DIY projects for "Tweens". I don't remember the name of the book but I did write the recipes down in a journal that I kept back then and I just happen to still have a few of my old journals!! Even though I bought the book when I was still a child, the projects and recipes are still just as interesting and fun, now that I'm an adult.

The recipes I'll be sharing today are to help you relax and stay beautiful! They are all very simple to make and don't cost very much at all!

Pear Facial Mask

Pears are wonderful for moisturizing! The following recipe is a great soother for sun-drenched skin. It even works great on skin that has a bit of redness or blotches.

This recipe is enough for 1 mask

You will need:

• 1 Ripe Pear
• 1 Tablespoon of Honey
• 1 Tablespoon of Light Cream of While Milk

Directions:

• Peal and Core the Pear and Cut it into Small Pieces
• In a small bowl - Mash the pear into a smooth paste
• Stir in the Honey and Cream
• Spread the mixture over your face and neck - Keep the mask away from your eyes
• Lay back and relax with your eyes closed for about 20 to 30 minutes
• Rinse with Warm Water - Splash with Cool Water - Pat your face dry.

**Using Milk and Cream to keep your skin milky-smooth (haha love the milky addition :) Couldn't help myself!) is an old Southern beauty trick?

Honey-Vanilla Bath and Footsie Soak

If your skin isn't soft enough for you from the top two recipes, this body soak will quickly do the trick! You'll feel completely relaxed when your surrounded in the oh-so-heavenly scent of honey and vanilla that will follow you  long after your bath is complete.

You will need:

• 1/2 cup of Baby Oil or Mineral Oil
• 1/2 cup of Honey
• 1/2 cup of Unscented liquid soap
• 1 Tablespoon of Vanilla Extract

A Squeeze bottle to store your soak in. (A honey-bear is the perfect bottle and looks super adorable sitting on your bathroom counter or tub!)

Directions:

• Mix all ingredients together until the honey completely dissolves.
• Pour all contents into the squeeze bottle.
• Shake the mixture before each use
• For Baths -- Use about 1/4 cup
• For Foot Soak -- 2 or 3 Squirts

• Cut a Tomato in half and rub the cut side over the surface of your face while gebtly squeezing to slowly release the juices
• Leave the juice on your face for 10-15 minutes
• Rinse

Always remember to be cautious when your putting things on your skin, even if it's natural. Some people may be sensitive to the acid in tomato juice.

My Review of Root Beauty Deodorant

If your a natural momma or just someone who enjoys using eco-friendly products, you have to check out Root Beauty.

I got the opportunity to try out Root Beauty's natural deodorant a few weeks ago. I have to admit that I wasn't sure how I was going to like the deodorant because I had never used a natural deodorant before.

There's a first time for everything! Right?

When I received my package from Root Beauty I was excited to start trying it out. At first I got confused... like I said I had never used a natural deodorant before so I wasn't expecting it to be in a little jar. It took me a few minutes before I figured out how I was going to apply the deo, with my fingers of course!

Root Beauty Deodorant smells wonderful! I can't quiet place what kind of smell it is but you can tell that it's natural. It just has that natural smell. If you've ever smelt natural products then you'll know what I mean.

I've wore my Root Beauty plenty of times and it works amazingly. I wasn't sure at first because sometimes I sweet more than others and I always worry when I start feeling wetness. But with Root Beauty, I completely forgot to worry! I know how crazy that sounds but I never felt any wetness and I wasn't self-conscious! I'd say that would mean that Root Beauty passed the test and gets

an A from this momma!

My only advice for you is that you keep your Root Beauty Deodorant in a cool place so it don't melt. If it does melt then just put it in a cool place and it will turn into a solid before you know it. (Mine melted a couple times) And I think I'm going to try and apply it with a makeup sponge the next time I wear my Root Beauty. I believe it might work pretty well!

How old do you think is the right age to get your daughters' ears pierced?

How old is too young?

My youngest, Jade, was 4 and Loran was 5 yrs old when their dad and I took them to the mall to get their ears pierced. Loran was in kindergarten and was very excited that she got to go back to school and show all her friends that she got her ears pierced.

I was to scared to get my girls' ears pierced when they were babies, even though I was only 6 months old when my mama took me to get my ears pierced. I knew my babies were going to cry and I couldn't handle it. I'm not saying that it's wrong because I have no problems with my ears but I was to scared.
