DIY Valentine's Day Foam Stamps: Kids Craft

This post may contain affiliate links.

**Valentine Foam Stamps Tutorial**

DIY Valentines Foam Stamps

With Valentine's Day just over a month away, I figured I'd do something new and get a head start on my Love Day crafting and planning... which I NEVER do, since I'm always behind and sometimes close to late... no matter which holiday I'm planning for.

While my daughters were making birthday cards for one of their friends, I got an idea for creating stamps out of foam stickers! The whole process takes only a few minutes from start to end. I gathered a few supplies by wondering throughout the house and finding things that rolled easily as well as things that could be used as a sturdy stamp handle. Below you will find the supplies that I used to create my stamps but don't confine yourself to the things I found... You don't have to use the same supplies I used to create awesome stamps, be creative and add some personal touches to make them your very own!

Crafting Supplies

Materials Needed:

Foam Stickers (Hearts, Flowers, etc)
Cardboard tube (Toilet paper, paper towel, etc)
Paint (Acrylic Paint Works best but Watercolors will work as well)
Glue Stick
Simi-Thick Paper (Construction paper, sketch paper, etc)

**Check end of post for replacement supply ideas**

*Rolling Stamp*

DIY Rolling Stamp

I simply stuck foam stickers onto a toilet paper roll in a random fashion.
I didn't have enough hearts to use on the Rolling Stamp so I used flowers! You can use your new stamp to create homemade wrapping paper, Valentine's cards and so much more!

*Simple Heart Stamp*

Heart Stamp

This one couldn't be any easier.... All you have to do is place any foam sticker onto a sturdy cylinder shaped item, dip into paint and STAMP AWAY!
I used a cute little heart in honor of the upcoming Love Day! Any shape can be used to match any and all holidays, celebrations and everyday fun!
Also great for homemade wrapping paper, Valentine's cards plus much more!

*Pencil Eraser Dots*

Pencil Eraser Stamping

You can also make polka dots using the eraser of a new pencil!
The options are endless with a circled dot stamp!

Here are a few example of other items you can use on your stamps. This is only a small selection of options.... The possibilities are ENDLESS so let your creativity run wild!
I'd love to see what you come up with, post your new stamp creations onto our Facebook page if you like, I LOVE sharing ideas!

DIY Stamping Supplies

Cut Apples into different shapes and use as your stamp, Use the orange peal for a unique texture, toy car wheels for car tracks, M&M container for stamp handle and circle stamp, make a flower print using the ring and so on......

DIY Stamping Supplies

Add your foam stickers to anything that rolls easily to create a rolling stamp!

The October Pin-Up Faerie

It's October!!!
The season of falling leaves and changing colors!

Not only do I share a name with the "Autumn Season" but my birthday just passed as well! What can I say... I'm a Fall Baby! And YES I believe in faeries! Right now in the Realm of Fae, all kinds of different faeries are getting ready for the fall season! Some are ready to paint the changing colors while others may be creeping through the night, waiting for the perfect mortal to scare!
I know, I sound insane but I'm a big fantasy believer and nothing can change that... I've got a creative brain!

Guess What!?
I'm CRAZY for the October Pin-Up Faerie from Kiri Leonard's Collection!
Take a look for yourself!

Photo Artist - Kiri Leonard  http://kirileonard.com/

I got an idea!!!
I'm going to create my own Faeries! They won't be as pretty or detailed as Kiri's but I believe the thought process behind the idea will make up for them not being so professional-like!
Sorry for being so vague but I believe my faeries are best kept as a surprise for now :)
Don't you just love the random thought process? Great ideas can be born in a matter of seconds!!
I'll let you know when my faeries are complete, they're going to be super special. I promise!

Continue to Fly Free in the Magical Realm of Fae!
Best Wishes,
Autumn B
aka
*AutoFaerie*

I haven't posted the whole collection of Monthly Pin-Up Faeries from Kiri Leonard yet, I've missed LOTS of months but I the link to July is below if your interested in seeing another faerie month :) I'll start keeping up with the Faerie Months better from now on, their too wonderful to forget about!

Foto Friday -Downtown Photo Shoot

TGIF!!!!

It's FRIDAY!!!! The end of the work and school week and this weekend just happens to be a long one!
Happy Labor Day Weekend!

How to you feel about a Foto Friday?
I took my daughters downtown last weekend for a photo shoot and I would love to share some of those photographs with you. What better way then to launch a new segment?

Here are a few of the photos from my shoot with "The Dancing Diva's" - Loran and Jade
Tell me what you think :) I love feedback on my photography!

I decided to let the girls chose their own poses since that's when their true personality shines. The shot below was the first one I took during the actual photo shoot (I took many more on out way to the wall), it turned out a bit blurry but I can't get over the poses they chose :) They are The Dancing Diva's after all!!

Loran - Diva with Attitude

Jade - Sassy, Sweet but Not so Innocent

Irish Twins - You'd think they were connected at the hip! They won't do anything without the other.

The photo below is the above part of the wall that didn't make into the photographs. (My girls were too short to have the dragon in their pictures) I chose this wall for our shoot because of the bright colors and who could overlook the HUGE dragon that stretched across the top of the brick wall?! Isn't is amazing? Such a wonderful art piece!

Being able to walk around downtown and find beautiful pieces of art painted on the buildings is one of the wonderful things about Asheville, NC! We believe that artists need to be seen and many local business have even hired local artist to turn their outside walls into one of a kind art pieces, some even have the store name and even a product or two :) You can even find murals that tell a story about history. They are all simply breathtaking!

I hope you enjoyed this weeks Foto Friday! Don't forget to check back next week, you never know kind of foto's I may have in store!

Coloring with Lil' Creepers - Review & Giveaway

#Sponsored Review By +Lil' Creepers Shawna Carter

"Every-one is good at atleast 1 thing!
FIND YOURS!!"
Quote by Shawna Carter via Lil' Creepers

How many Zombies do you know? I bet you have at least one friend who's waiting for the Zombie Apocalypse! Am I right? What about Bats, Vampires, Werewolf and all those other Creepy Monsters? Has your addiction (or your friend's addiction) worn off on the kids? If you have kids that are Monster Fans then they are sure to LOVE the Lil' Creepers! With the Lil' Creepers, you get to follow the adventures of a little Zombie named Brenna. Brenna cooks, colors, plays with her friends and much more! These adorable monsters are "creepy" enough for the Pre-Teens and Cute enough for the Pre-School/Elementary Age kids!

When the opportunity arose to work with Shawna Carter, the author/creator of Lil' Creepers, I jumped at the chance to introduce my daughters to Brenna and all of her Lil' Creeper friends! I don't often tell my girls about the upcoming reviews that I have planned until the product shows up because I LOVE the look on their little faces when they carry a package into the house and quickly realize that it's for them! That's excatly what happened when the Coloring Book from Lil' Creepers showed up! Loran and Jade checked the mail and brought me a large brown envlope and just stood there in front of me.... Waiting on me to open the package. It's become some sort of a game for them:
Jade and Loran bring in the mail/packges
Hand the packages to me
Almost "Demand" for them to be opened
Either Stand infront of me or Sit beside me to watch the opening process
Take a good look at the contents of the package
If it's a Kid Product then I get to see the Excited - Surprised Look on 2 beautiful little faces
If it's an Adult Product, they try and guess what I will use it for
Either run and play with their new item or continue doing before the mail showed up.

Our package routine is quite fun and seeing the girls search the house for a box of crayons that I knew was in the bathroom, was very entertaining. (Don't ask why the crayon box was in the bathroom, I'm still wondering about that one myself. When I asked Loran, she laughed in my face and walked off!! No joke!) I finally retrieved the Crayon Box for the girls and they headed straight to their bed to stretch out and color! Loran said that she loves the "Creepy Monster Characters" while Jade mentioned that she likes the bat picture that her sister colored. She said that what she loves most about her new Lil' Creepers Coloring Book is all of the cool coloring pages for them to color. Jade also enjoys the fact that the pictures are drawn and not the perfect computer-made lines!

I also love the drawn pages! (My friends and I steal the coloring book after the girls go to sleep and color a few pages!! I know I know it may sound mean but Jade and Loran enjoy finding our pages when they flip through their book!) Shawna is a WONDERFUL artist, I bet her daughter is one proud little girl! (Shawna's Lil' Creepers Series are based on her young daughter named Brenna) I love how every illustration that's affiliated with Lil' Creepers are pieces of art! If you visit the Lil' Creepers Website, you'll see exactly what I mean when I say that Shawna Carter is an outstanding artist! I can draw but nowhere near as good as this girl! Each coloring page in the Lil' Creepers Coloring Book is unique and different! You get to meet Brenna and all of her friends through simple but detailed coloring pages pages, not to mention the brightly colored book cover! I bet your kids will keep up with this coloring book for atleast 1 week longer than normal! :) Jade and Loran are still coloring in their new coloring book and find a new details that they didn't notice before!

Make sure you also check out Shawna's Kids Cookbook called "Cooking with Creepers" - A friend of mine did a review for "Cooking with Creepers" and her little ones loved it just as much as my girls enjoyed the Lil' Creepers Coloring Book!! That tells me that Lil' Creepers are a BIG HIT with little ones!

Who don't like Adorable Creepy Monsters?!?!?!

Faeries in July!!

Photo Artist - Kiri Leonard  http://kirileonard.com/

Happy July everyone!!!!
Don't you just love all the warm weather? I love Summer, I do dread being hot and sweaty but I would rather be hot then cold. My fiance always says that you can always add more layers but you can only take off so many clothes... which is very true but I DO NOT like being cold! If a cold breeze blows my way... I get a cold chill and need to cover up. That's just me :)

Isn't that a beautiful July Faerie in the photo above? I have the whole collection on monthly Faeries and I found them randomly online one night while searching for inspration for my short stories that I write sometimes. I just found out recently who the artist is! I copied a small bit from her site to let you know alittle bit about Kiri Leonard.

"Kiri Østergaard Leonard is a freelance illustrator and artist from Denmark. She works on projects ranging from realistic portraiture to fantasy illustrations. She's available for freelance as well as private commissions."
Above insert from http://kirileonard.com/

I love Kiri's work!! The Faeries is what caught my eye! I LOVE faeries and always will! :)

Well I'm going to go play with Summer Faeries!!!

HAPPY SUMMER!!!!
