If you’ve made the decision to give unique and creative gifts this year, maybe you should consider these titles...
(Books cost around $40 or less)

Don't we all have a cookie craving every now and then?
Maria Lichter, a popular food blogger, decided to put her cookie cravings into something super YUMMY and original: A baking book featuring 30 recipes you won’t find anywhere else.

A charming collection of original, vintage photos that show us that as long as there have been cameras, we’ve wanted to photograph our furry, four-legged best friends! As a special bonus, you'll find a glossary of the early photographic methods used in the original photos.

Have a Photography lover in the family? What about a Graffiti-Art fan on your list? The following book is an amazing collection of gritty color that explores the wonders of street art and analog photography.

A short andwonderful illustrated collection of recipes as well as food stories, that'll inspire you to pick up a pan and spatula—or maybe just pen and paper.

Illustrated and written many years apart by a mother and daughter! This sweet rhyming story is told by a fox and is simply pure joy for all ages!!!

Us humans are some odd and crazy people sometimes!
Chicken goggles, air-conditioned rocking chairs, monkey jockeys for greyhounds… humankind has invented and sought to patent some amazing and crazy things. This history of odd inventions is illustrated by Jordan Natyshen and is full of some of the strangest inventions that you've ever seen! I promise you that!

This is the PERFECT stocking-stuffer for loved one's who have an off-beat since of humor! An undeniably nutty book is based on a Tumblr blog and combines photo collages of small horses in human environments and finished off with hilarious, side-splitting captions! A since of humor is a MUST when you notice that 'Tiny Horses are Everywhere!'

What can you do with an empty roll of toilet paper?
If you’re French artist Anastassia Elias, you create tiny dioramas inside of the many discarded tubes. Super creative ain't it?! Inspired by art and movies, these amazing art pieces are magnificently crafted, fun, and extremely detailed! Anyone who's got an eye for creativity will sure to enjoy this book!

If you, or someone you love, listened to New York punk and new wave in the 70s, I'm almost certain that your favorite artist can be found in this book. Bobby Grossman had the amazing opportunity to photograph Iggy Pop, David Byrne, The Ramones, Debbie Harry, Andy Warhol and many more. This book is a time capsule of... and some what of a love letter to... a legendary time, place, and soulful sound!

Swing over to Blurb and see if you can finalize your gift search for that perfectly unique person on your Holiday List this season!!

Tackling Illustrations

So I've been writing stories and poems for as long as I can remember. Most of my stories are about Faeries and a Fantasy world while my poems seem to be more along the lines of lost love or dark depression. I'm not sure why or how 2 pieces of writing from the same author can be so different but that's the way I've always been.

At the moment I have a couple faerie stories going and I have the opportunity to get one of them in book form. (Not to sale in stores but to have a solid copy for my daughters and myself.)
My only problem is the illustrations. A faerie story can't be printed into book if it doesn't have pictures!

When in Middle and High school, I was a decent artist. I took lots of Art classes and LOVED every bit of it! I've always been into art and designs, all my interest are in the creative field.  But I never claimed to be a really good drawer. Drawing people has always been my weakest link and it just happens that faeries are people.....

I'm stumped...... I know a few people who are great artist and a couple has agreed to work with me but it's a really busy time in everyone's life right now that nothing seems to be lining up very well.

I don't want the illustrations to be complex or fancy, I'm thinking along the lines of decorative and simple. Kinda like these cute little owls from Oopsy Daisy...

Since I can't draw... maybe I can come up with another way to get the illustrations done.
I have 2 chances to get my book printed and one of those chances is less than a week away!!

I like the crafty feel of the owls in the photo so I think I'll go back to my crafting roots and see where that road takes me. I'll let you know how it goes!
I  hope I can hit the dead line!!

I gotta get to planning!!

*Grabbing - Fabric scraps, decorative paper, paint, glue, scissors... THE WHOLE CRAFT BAG!*

(Look for up updates soon!)
