I've always enjoyed "flipping through" the Amazon Holiday Toy List, not only can I find the perfect gifts for my daughters but I can also get a good feel at what's popular with kids these days. It helps me choose the best gifts that my cousins and friends' kids will enjoy instead of just guessing on what's popular and fun. This year, unlike any other year, my daughters are all about movies. They don't watch TV all day but when they do get some TV time, they're always asking if we have a new movie for them to watch. Lucky me, the Amazon Holiday Toy List also has a section for movies! Albert's Perfect Pet - A Children's Book Review

#Sponsored by Donna Zappala

Every child asks for a pet atleast once throughout their childhood and it can be tough conversation when you go to explain why some animals may not be the best pet for your child. I ran across a children's book named "Albert's Perfect Pet" that's about just that... Finding the perfect pet in a store full of many different pets.

I met Donna Zappala, the author of "Albert's Perfect Pet", about a month ago and was quickly interested in her children books. I was overjoyed when she agreed to a review! My daughters love to read but they love to be read to even more, so that's what they got... The chance to sit down with their daddy and read a new book.

'Albert's Perfect Pet' is a wonderful children's book about a little boy who decides that he wants a pet of his own, just like his friend. His parents agree that he would be a great pet owner so off to the pet store they went. While at the pet store, Albert learns about the responsibilities of many different pets and finally finds the perfect one.

Loran and Jade couldn't get enough of the pets that were mentioned in the story. Loran kept saying "A lizard ain't the perfect pet, It gets 6 feet tall and wants to sit in your lap!" Jade simply decided that she wanted a fish (We've been talking about getting a few fish for a while now, but Albert has helped to amp up the desire :) Looks like we'll be heading to the pet store soon!!
(Maybe we'll do it for Christmas!!)

This book is great for helping kids understand the responsibilities of owning a pet and how each pet have different needs. 'Albert's Perfect Pet' is a wonderful book for children who are starting to ask for their own pet but don't completely understand what's expected from a new pet owner. Kids will learn about pet responsibilities as well as enjoy the story of Albert's trip to the pet store to choose his perfect pet.

'Albert's Perfect Pet' is available for purchase on Amazon!
Use the links below to learn more and view prices:

There is also an Albert's Perfect Pet T-Shirt available on Amazon too! I just happen to run across it while getting the book links and was surprised! It comes in many colors but I like the black one myself :)

Tips for Making Traveling with Kids Easier & Fun

Making the best of a road trip with

“Are we there yet?”  the family road trip! Ipads, hand-held video games and all of those other tech-toys may have some-what silenced backseat conversations (except the fighting over the tech-toys!), but spending time together while in the car can be a wonderful opportunity for family to spend some time together as well as throw in some learning as well.
(I done a post on Learning on the Go a month or so back!)

Here are some tips from Little Passports that are sure to make the time fly by (or at least go by a bit faster):

  • Save your most recent Little Passports package (from Sam and Sofia) for your trip so your kids to learn and explore throughout the car ride.
  • Say goodbye to your handy little GPS! Take a step back in time and use an actual map! The day before your trip, buy a map (gas stations and truck stops always have maps). Show your intended route to your kids or take it a step further and photocopy the map! Hand the kids a highlighter so your kids can follow along – and maybe even let you know when you missed a turn. :)
  • Leave extra time in your travel schedule for pit stops – and if time allows, try and make short stops that include fun activities along the way. Everyone needs a bathroom break and some food, and if you happen to see a place near a playground or a neat attraction that's quick and exciting then it can be a wonderful experience for everyone! The kids can get fed as well as burn off some of that built up energy.
  • Reward for good travel behavior. -  Pick up some small toys, coloring books and activities at the local dollar store, before you hit the road. Every hour or so, let your child choose a surprise. You can even wrap up the toys for an added element of surprise.
For more travel ideas, take a look at a my past post about Learning On The Go. You'll find many ideas for sneaking in some learning on your next road trip.

Are You Ready For the TruMoo Switcheroo?

#Sponsored by +BzzAgent & TruMoo

Every time we go to the grocery store, Milk is always at the top of our shopping list, no matter what. The funny thing is that I don't drink milk and my fiance rarely does either. So that leaves the girls, and between the two - Jade drinks the most. I often say that Jade has a milk addiction, and even though it's not as extreme as it was this time last year, she still drinks alot. I've asked  her doctor a couple times if too much milk could cause a problem and even though she said no, I still worry. Jade rarely drinks just plain regular milk - It's Strawberry Milk that's stolen her heart and Chocolate makes her just as happy.
So I decided to try something new...
Instead of buying regular milk, I picked up some TruMoo Flavored Milk instead. I figured it was worth a try and since it's still milk, it can't taste that much different than what she's use to.

Lucky for my daughters, it was near Halloween and TruMoo was trying out a new flavor - Vanilla and it was Orange! As soon as Jade and Loran saw the orange milk, they were begging for a glass. I've never seen two little girls drink milk so fast in my life! The half-gallon jug of TruMoo was gone in less than 24 hours and I never heard a single complaint!
(Since the orange vanilla milk got drank so quickly, I wasn't able to snap a photo but I got one of the chocolate!)

Why TruMoo?

With 8 essential nutrients, TruMoo milk is pure and healthy. You won't find any high fructose corn syrup and each jug is sweetened with just enough sugar to make it delicious! By adding pure cocoa and fresh strawberries, TruMoo is able to get away with leaving out artificial flavors and colors! What else can you ask for?

Surprisingly enough, we haven't tried the strawberry flavor of TruMoo yet, just Vanilla and Chocolate. I'm sure that a jug of Strawberry TruMoo will be added to the shopping cart on our next grocery run since we can no longer purchase the Vanilla! (I sure hope they decide to bring back the Vanilla flavor before next Halloween, it was a huge hit with my girls!) The chocolate milk is quickly running low as we speak... So I believe it's safe to say that my TruMoo Switcheroo was a success! The girls are happy so I'm happy and it can't get much better than that.

Did you get the chance to try out TruMoo Orange Vanilla before it disappeared?

You can also find them on Facebook and Twitter too!

I received a coupon for 1 free product and 4 others, from BzzAgent, to purchase TruMoo at a discount rate, in return for this review. Have Fun While Learning About Germs with GIANTmicrobes

Germs, Germs, Germs!

Most of us don't think about those tiny microbes that can make us sick, until it's too late and someone has caught a cold or the flu. How do we make sure that our kids wash their hands regularly? We can't watch over them 24/7, so how we make that lesson stick?

I've been asking myself those questions lately and I believe I've figured it out! The best way to learn is to make it fun, right? Like counting Cheerios's to learn math. So what if there was something that could teach kids about germs without it "going in one ear and out the other?" Would you try it? I searched the web to see if there was anything available that could help my daughters understand the importance of avoiding germs.... without the boring lesson... and guess what I found??

The Health Pack from Giant Microbes was created to teach kids everything there is to know about the cold and flu, including on how to prevent them! By using fun learning tools, like a Handwashing Kit with a Soap dispenser, kids will get excited about learning good habits. It also includes 2 plush toys that look like tiny microbres (alot bigger of course), Giant Microbes Stickers, Mirror Cling and a Common Cold Key Chain! Don't it sound great? The Health Pack from Giant Microbes is a wonderful and useful educational tool for not only parents but teachers as well. Not to mention that it would make an amusing gift for anyone with a sense of humor or a love for science!!

Did I mention that you can get The Giant Microbes Health Pack for 40% off at Educents.com?

The sale only lasts for a Limited Time so you got to act fast!

Would You Use Toilet Paper With Your Baby? #LetsTalkBums with Cottonelle

#Sponsored By +Crowdtap & +Cottonelle

When you think of wiping a baby's bottom, what comes to mind?
Baby Wipes, of course!!
I couldn't imagine using anything else... Could you?

Now think about going to the bathroom yourself...
What do you use to wipe your hinny?
Say it out loud...
Come on...
It's Toilet Paper, right?

I know your probably thinking "Why is this crazy woman talking about the bathroom?" Well, I'm about to tell you....

We all use toilet paper in the bathroom and don't think twice about it. It's normal, it's what we're taught and it's what our parents were taught. As soon as we become "big kids" and can use the potty, we switch from having our bottom's cleaned with baby wipes to using toilet paper.

When my daughters were babies, I use to steal a few baby wipes and keep them in the bathroom and I always mentioned buying some to keep in there... but never did.
My point is...
We wouldn't use toilet paper when we change your baby's diaper... So why do we use it on ourselves? Why not use wipes as well?

Luck for us... Cottonelle has been asking some of those same questions and has a wonderful answer for us...

Cottonelle Wet Wipes - Baby Wipes for grown-ups!

Cottonelle has created a line of flushable wipes that are the perfect accessory for any bathroom. You don't know what clean feels like until you try them out for yourself.

I wasn't sure about it myself when I first heard of Cottonelle Wet Wipes but I should have been. (I did use to steal my daughters baby wipes...) I always thought that the "wetness" would be bothersome, I'm not sure why I thought it would "tag along" instead of drying, but I did and that thought kept me from purchasing my own "Grown-Up" Wipes.
I finally got the chance to try out Cottonelle Wet Wipes when I received an offer from CrowdTap and thought "Why not? It's worth a try, right?"
So I agreed and got surprisingly anxious while waiting on the package.
When it arrived, I found a new wipe dispenser with an unopened pack of wipes inside and 2 To-Go Packs of Cottonelle Fresh Care Flushable Cleansing Wipes, as well as coupons! I couldn't wait to take the Cottonelle Challenge and test out my new "grown-up wipes."
I'll spare you the details and simply say:
"The Cottonelle Care Routine ROCKS!!!"

I haven't felt this clean since my girls were babies and their ages 6 and 7 now! And speaking of my daughters, having the Cottonelle wipes in the bathroom has helped me worry less about them as well. If your a parent then you know how it feels to wonder if your child is getting clean enough in the bathroom, or even getting clean at all. Kids get in a hurry sometimes and you never know what they may forget to do...
Now that we have Cottonelle Fresh Care Wipes, everyone in my home has a clean bottom and THAT makes me happy. Noone can change my mind when it comes to using wipes in the bathroom and they wouldn't want to once they tried them out their selves! I would almost bet money it... But since I'm not a betting gal, You can just take my word for it.

I'll never go back to using strictly toilet paper again, I'm hooked on The Cottonelle Care Routine!

Have you tried out Cottonelle Fresh Care Flushable Cleansing Wipes yet?

If not, then what are you waiting for?
I see a refreshing and clean hinny in your future...
What do you see?

Celebrate the Holiday's at the Titanic Museum Attraction in Pigeon Forge

#Sponsored By the Titanic Museum & USFG

(Read at the bottom to see how you can WIN tickets for your family to go see the Titanic Museum this Holiday Season!!!)

I've been itching to visit the Titanic Museum Attraction in Pigeon Forge for months now and haven't had the change to make it out there yet. Maybe waiting was a good thing because I had no idea that they celebrate the Holiday's in STYLE!
Let me explain....

The fun begins on Thanksgiving Day! Wednesday, November 28th at 7:30pm, Prepare to be amazed! The night sky will light up with colorful sparks of light during the Titanic Museum’s second annual fireworks extravaganza, honoring the lives and legacies of each of the ship’s passengers, crew and rescuers. It will, for sure, be the largest fireworks show of the year on the Smoky Mountain Parkway. It's truly something that you don't want to miss! "We look forward to celebrating a joyful evening with our community friends and neighbors.” announces John Joslyn, expedition leader of the 1st private exploration dive to Titanic and co-owner of the Titanic Museum Attraction.

“Since the Titanic Museum Attraction’s grand opening in 2010, fireworks have been seen as glowing tributes to the 2,208 passengers and crew who sailed on Titanic,” said Joslyn, “Our Thanksgiving fireworks display also serves to usher in a new holiday Christmas season of hope and promise for all of us,” adds Joslyn.

The firework show isn't the only thing that you should be looking forward to when it comes to the Titanic Museum Attraction this Holiday Season... The Titanic Fantasy Princess brings new Holiday Magic to Pigeon Forge in a way that's never been done before!

“Our Fantasy Princess will be here to greet little girls and boys and help make their holiday dreams come true,” announces John Joslyn, “She will embody the holiday season’s magic and mystery shared by children of 1912 and today.”

The Titanic Fantasy Princess is a beautiful new addition to the annual Titanic Christmas Winter Wonderland, which features thousands of outstanding holiday lights, Edwardian-style decorations, costumed "merry-makers" and a Gift Shoppe full of one-of-a-kind goodies! Not to mention that the little ones will get the opportunity to pose in a photo with the princess herself. What a magical moment that will be! (My girls would be so excited! I can't wait!)

The Live Appearances will be from 1-8pm
(unless otherwise stated below)

Thursday, November 28th, 29th & 30th (Thanksgiving Weekend)

Friday, December 6th (1-5pm)
Saturday December 7th
Friday, December 13th

Sunday, December 22nd (1-6pm)
Thursday, December 26th
Friday, December 27th
Saturday December 28th
Sunday, December 29th
Monday, December 30th

“Every day we remember and honor the men, women and children who sailed on Titanic, but this is especially so during the holidays. You’ll truly experience what a Titanic Christmas voyage might have been like 101 years ago,” Joslyn mentions.

If you think it all sounds like a dream.... There's more!! It's hard to believe that one attraction can offer so much but it's true! The Titanic Museum just keeps on giving!

It WILL snow this season in Pigeon Forge! The Titanic Museum Attraction guarantees it!! Starting on Thanksgiving evening, (Thursday, November 28th) it will snow – yes, REAL snow – on the Titanic. The snow will be part of the museum’s Christmas in a Winter Wonderland Celebration, which is meant to honor and celebrate the lives of all 2,208 passengers and crew of the Titanic itself.

On Thanksgiving and every Saturday in December, (starting at 7:30pm) the Titanic will create real snow falling off the bow of the ship! (Doesn't it sound wonderful?!) Not to mention that the entire ship, from inside and out will be twinkling with Christmas lights and lots of decorations.
“Everything about our Christmas in a Winter Wonderland Celebration is aimed at giving our visitors and their families a unique, memorable holiday experience. A memory that will last forever – and isn’t that what Christmas is all about?” exclaims John Joslyn
Yes John Joslyn... Creating memories and spending time with family IS what Christmas is all about!

An Educational Fall Freebie for the Kids - LIMITED TIME ONLY

What's better than a freebie....
How about an Educational Fall Freebie?!?!

For a limited time only, Educents is offering the Leaf Pile - A Sight Word Game for FREE!

Raking leaves is the first thing that my daughters start talking about when fall season comes around and it's a favorite activity for many children. (Of course jumping in the leaf piles are the best part!) With the Leaf Pile Sight Word Game, kids can "rake" sight words into their own piles while they are practicing reading them!

This engaging and fast-paced sight game will have your kids laughing with delight as they search for the “Friend Cards” to receive a bonus point and stay away from the “Wind Cards” which will blow all of their cards back to the leaf pile. All while learning Fry's first 100 words!

Educational fun is super important so that children will grow to love learning and enjoy the whole concept of growing their brains!

The kit includes many ideas for different variations of how you can play the game. Each card is marked with a number so you will know if the word is in the first, second, third, or fourth set of 25 words. Not only does this help with cleaning and organizing but it also makes it easier to remember which words your child has mastered.

The Leaf Pile - A Sight Word Game is for children in grades Kindergarten through 2nd grade and can be used by Parents, Teachers and Home-school. Kids will love playing the game and will forget that their learning! My favorite kind of game!!
