Comfort during Feeding Time - My Bottle Pets Review

#Sponsored By: +Bottle Pets

- Bottle Pets -
Comfort your baby during feeding time with a stuffed animal and bottle cover... All-in-one!

All Photography and rights belong to Thru My Eyes Photography
Feeding time can be tough sometimes. Every baby has their days where us as parents, know their hungry but they just don't seem interested in the bottle and they may be too young for solids. What do you do?
Slip their bottle into a Bottle Pet!

Bottle Pets look and feel like a stuffed animal and have the ability to keep your baby's hands warm and occupied during feeding time.

Not every parent heats up their child's bottle and the chilly outside can be cold on their little fingers. I've realized that not only are bottle pets adorable and a BIG hit with the babies but they can actually help your child learn to hold their bottle faster. The feet of the animal give your baby something to hold on to instead of the slick bottle.

Baby Dom
I believe that having the bottle pet may even help give the kids something to hold onto once it's time to take the bottle away... it can be a tough time when your child gets too old for the bottle. It's their comfort tool when they sleep, Bottle Pets can help! They may no longer have the bottle but they can keep the pet and still have the comfort of their favorite soft toy.

Speaking of soft... I couldn't wait to receive Sammy the Bulldog in the mail, I wanted to hold him! He looked so fuzzy and cute on their website and I wasn't one bit disappointed once I finally received my new Bottle Pet. They're as soft as can be and the perfect size for any bottle. They are big enough for the regular size bottles and tight enough for the smaller bottles to fit well also.

Don't have a baby?

No worries.. Bottle Pets work great on Water bottles too!!!

My daughters LOVE playing with Sammy the Bulldog! He holds their water bottle while keeping their hands warm and their water cold! You should of heard all the giggles when I slid their water bottle up into Sammy... They played for hours!! Sammy had a busy day and went on lots of fun adventures!

Not feeling Sammy the Bulldog?

That's okay - Bottle Pet has many options to chose from:
  • Riley the Bunny
  • Drew the Ladybug
  • Dylan the Octopus
  • Bailey the Cow
  • Charlie the Dinosaur
  • Sammy the Bulldog
One of the best parts about Bottle Pets is that they are machine washable!!!

They're simply wonderful!
Bottle Pets make unique baby-shower gifts and truly have no age limit. (Unlike other baby toys & bottle covers)

I recommend Bottle Pets to families of all sizes and ages! Kids love the cute animals and babies can't get enough of their cuddly bottle covers.

Make Organizing Easier

Spring cleaning is what's on everyone's mind these days and what better way to keep up with the things we put into all those plastic storage totes than with Sticky Labels? I'm not a fan of putting my stuff in boxes for many reasons but I also don't like writing on my totes because I may want to use it for something different in the future. You can even get Write Away labels!! Mabel's Labels are perfect for the job! They come in many different styles and they can be used for the simplest things like toys and holiday decorations or even for labeling school or work supplies!

Mabel's Labels is worth taking a look at if your a busy mom or a working lady! They're simply wonderful!

Overcoming Our Fears with Funky Yellow Bus - Our Review

Overcoming Our Fears with Funky Yellow Bus

The first day of school can be a tough day for the little ones. They don't know what to expect when they climb up onto that Funky Yellow Bus. Everyone gets nervous and scared sometimes. It's a natural way of life, learning how to overcome your fear is always been a challenging task, especially for kids.

When I got the opportunity to review a new Children's Book about overcoming those nervous moments, I jumped at the chance!

The book is called Funky Yellow Bus by Robin B. Rosenberg

It's about little girl named Brookie Cookie who is nervous for her first day of school and having to ride on that Funky Yellow Bus

The photos are very bright and colorful, they really catch the eye of young readers and helps them relate to the story. My daughters had me read them Funky Yellow Bus over and over again! They love it so much that Loran reads it to her sister often.Loran has many nicknames and one of them just happens to be Brookie, so she was super excited to find out that the little girl in the book was named Brookie Cookie! She even has brown hair like my daughter.

Throughout the book, Brookie Cookie finds her best-friend on the bus, has fun and ends up loving her rides on the Funky Yellow Bus! She overcomes her fears and realizes that she has nothing to be afraid about. Everything is going to be okay!

My girls, Loran and Jade, both know how it feels to be nervous of the first day of school and that first day riding the Funky Yellow Bus (I use to call it the big Cheese lol). It wasn't that long ago that they stood at the bus stop and wondered what it was going to be like once they walked up those 3 big steps!

Like Brookie Cookie, my girls overcome their fear and had a blast on the bus.
My girls are young so we still have many more nervous moments to overcome and I'm glad that we now have the perfect book to fall back on when my girlies need an extra dose of encouragement.

Funky Yellow Bus may be about riding the bus for the first time but the lesson it teaches can be used for many other nervous and scared moments as well.

In my eyes, I believe the motto of the story, Funky Yellow Bus,  is -- Change isn't easy and you may get nervous or scared but as long as you be brave, you can overcome anything!

Funky Yellow Bus by Robin B. Rosenberg would make the prefect addition to any grade-school child's book collection! When your child has a nervous moment, run and grab Funky Yellow Bus and borrow some courage from Brookie Cookie.

(This book is also easy to read with the small rhyming poem-like pages that are catchy and fun. My 1st grader could read it with just a small amount of help.)

Happy Birthday Lori!

Happy Birthday to a VERY Special Person!

Today is my aunt's 26th birthday and I can't believe how much has change in the past few years. Lori has always been my favorite aunt. She's my mama's sister and only 5 months and 3 days older me. When we were babies, my daddy-paw (Lori's daddy) would hold Lori in one arm and me in the other while teaching us what to call him... He would look at Lori and say "Daddy" and then look at me and say "Paw". I squished the 2 names together and started calling him Daddy-Paw :-)

Lori and I are so close in age that when we were kids that I would spend 90% of the time that school was out, at Lori's house. (We went to different schools so we couldn't spend the night with each other on school nights) We would blast "Great Balls Of Fire" and "Low Rider" while jumping on the trampoline and playing "House" in a near by barn.
I remember hanging out at my Daddy-paws shop with our radio and heavy bags full of paper, coloring books, magazines and all kinds of other stuff that could keep 2 little girls occupied for hours. We would dance on the back of a flat bed truck and search for blue crab claws in the near by creek. We even started our very own magazine called The Butterfly Club. We took interviews of family members and had everything planned out. We even printed out fliers, I remember that they were yellow with flowers and butterflies all over the page. We has our own nick names for The Butterfly Club Magazine but I don't remember what they were... Bubbles and Buttercup keep popping into my head but I'm not sure if I'm thinking about the Power Puff Girls or about our Butterfly Club Nicknames lol

We would go fishing for huge goldfish at our paws house and swim around in a creek for hours. I could never take a fish off my hook so I always had Lori do it for me :-) The creek would be full of random cows alot of the time but Lori and I didn't care, we would play in the sinking sand and splash around all day... Cows or no cows.

Lori and I grew up together, we went through the same troubles at the same time. I would be there for her and she would be there for me.

Since we've became adults, our relationship has faded a bit but I still love my aunt more than ever. We worked together, we were pregnant together Our daughters are the same age and I wish they were as close as Lori and I were. Maybe one day they will be :-)

I know that if I ever truly need something, that Lori will be there for me. She's a wonderful person and I don't know what I would do without my aunt Lori!

This photo is from when Lori and I was
in high-school. She was playing with
my hair and this is the out-come!
Beautiful!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY LORI!!! WE LOVE YOU BUNCHES!

Some cool info about my aunt:

  • She LOVES washing clothes
  • Her Favorite Color is Purple
  • She's had many nicknames but her latest one is Lu-Lu
  • She's a hard worker and currently has 2 jobs
  • She can do amazing things with hair!
  • I LOVE HER VERY MUCH!!

OOOOHHHHH Before I forget.............

"Happy Happy Birthday, from all of me to YOU.......
Happy Happy Birthday... I hope your dreams come true!!"

(Alittle Birthday song that I call and sing to Lori every year!)

No More Dirty Shoe Germs with Dr. Doormat - Our Review

#Sponsored By Dr. Doormat

Raising my family in the country, where getting dirty is part of every child's daily agenda, keeping clean carpets and low germ levels can be pretty tough. You would think that with me having 2 daughters that they wouldn't get real dirty often or play in the mud on a rainy day but that's not how it goes. Jade and Loran LOVE mud! They will ruin a new outfit in just a couple of hours if I let them go outside in it. Running around in the yard, climbing trees, running up and down out dirt and gravel driveway.... My house sees alot of dirt and grime!!

I was super excited when I got the opportunity to try out a new Mommy-Made doormat called Dr. Doormat, that reduces the amount of germs we carry into our home on the bottom of our shoes. Living off the back roads in Candler, I could definitely use the extra help!

What is Dr. Doormat?

Dr. Doormat is the first antimicrobial treated doormat designed for home use. The mat is infused during the manufacturing process with a specially formulated antimicrobial treatment that permanently bonds to the fibers of the doormat and cannot be tracked through your home. Dr. Doormat looks attractive and is a great addition for all entrances of your home. You can even use them at litter boxes and at dog beds or cages! They start working as soon as your shoe (or paw) touches the mat, instantly killing the germy bacteria.

Dr. Doormat is also Eco-Friendly!!

I was also very surprised to find out that Dr. Doormat is Eco-Friendly! Debbie Greenspan traveled all over the globe to discover the highest quality and most environmentally safe materials to create the Dr. Doormat. She was on a mission to make her home as healthy as possible for her young kids. She wasn't willing to make any compromises on quality and wouldn't even consider hurting the planet a tiny bit. Even the resin and pigment are non-toxic!! I LOVE IT!

Dr. Doormat comes in 4 different colors:
  • Charcoal Gray
  • Chocolate Brown
  • Peacock Blue
  • Autumn Red
I chose Autumn Red, I love the deep red tone. My fiance and I have always used deep red in our home decor. I also like the name of "Autumn Red".... It kind of makes me feel like it was made for me since we share the name Autumn :-)

We started using our Dr. Doormat as soon as it came in the mail. I have to admit that the first thing I did was take off my shoes to see how it felt on my bare feet. I couldn't help myself, the design looked really cool and I wanted to see if it felt as cool as it looked. I was NOT disappointed... It felt awesome!
I also like the little silver corner plate that says Dr. Doormat, it looks professional and it's not an unattractive paper tag hanging from the side of the doormat. The design fits in with our regular decor perfectly and don't stick out like some of the other ones that you can find in stores and can be a real eye-sore.

After placing Dr. Doormat at our front door, it became a natural thing to wipe our feet before we continued on throughout the house. It says to wipe your feet on the Dr. Doormat atleast twice for best results. My daughters made sure to make it a point to say "Make sure you wipe your feet, Mommy!" She would repeat herself almost every time we walked through the door for the first couple days.

We've been using Dr. Doormat for a few weeks now and my floor has been noticeably cleaner. I can't tell if our bacteria level is down but we haven't been sick and that always a plus! We're extremely happy with our new doormat and I've already started telling my friends about it. I don't plan on changing doormats for a long time. I've found the prefect doormat for Mom's and Families and I'm shouting it out to the world!!

Dr. Doormat is a "must have" home environmental tool for any Family with young kids. They spend most of they time in the floor and we don't want them collecting all those yucky germs that we carry in on our shoes each and every day.

Peanut Free Classroom

As my regular readers know, my daughters go to public school.

Atleast once a week, one of my daughters has cupcakes or something else for a classmates birthday. Both of my daughters were born during the summer so I didn't have to worry about their birthdays falling on a school day since school is out before it comes along. Last year I had planned on inviting some of Loran's little friends to her summer party but decided against it once the party got closer for time and location reasons. This year I have both girls in school and since we had a few snow days this past winters.... School won't be letting out for the summer until June 5th. Jade's birthday is at the end of May.... On a Saturday. Even though her birthday falls on a Saturday, she still wants to bring treats for her friends on the Friday before.

No Big Deal, Right?

WRONG!

Jade's classroom is a Peanut Free classroom due to a couple of her classmates having a peanut allergy. I'm not allowed to bring Home-cooked goods for birthdays. The only cupcakes that are allowed have to be bought at Walmart or Sam's Club.... Why not BiLo's? It's ALOT closer to my house but for some reason, it's not on the list of OK stores. I'm not sure why Walmart and Sam's Club are the only 2 but it looks like I will be heading to Walmart soon because I forgot to update my Sam's Club membership.

I'm not sure how much cupcakes cost at Walmart but I hope they aren't crazy priced or I'll end up broke.

Sometimes it's hard to remember that Jade can't bring peanut food to school. I've forgotten once and she ended up taking a lunchable to school and wasn't able to eat the treat which just happen to be a Reeses Cup. She returned home with it and said she couldn't eat it because her friend was sitting beside her LOL I'm guessing it was a little boy with peanut allergy's.

I have a feeling that I will have to deal with peanut allergy's throughout Jade's school years because it seems like alot of this years Kindergarten kids are peanut free so that would me that they will follow Jade throughout school.

I have no problem sending Jade to school with peanut free food. I don't want to hurt or risk the health of any child so if I need to check for peanut free ingredients then I'll gladly do it!

Do your kids or their classmates have Peanut Allergy's?

Childhood Memories - #CHALLENGETOWRITE

My Favorite Childhood Memories
#CHALLENGETOWRITE

Summer will be here soon and I can't wait! I LOVE Spring but I'm not a big fan of the chilly days where the wind makes me go grab a jacket.

I'm hoping that we will be able to go on a vacation this summer so I can get out of Asheville! I need a break for a week or two, I'll even be okay with a weekend out of town.

I remember when I was little that we would go to Lake James every summer for a few weeks. Some friends of the family would drive down a week before and clear up the area under a big bridge that we use to always camp at. It would get so grew up over the off season that without the clean-up, it wouldn't be clear enough for us to camp. We would have a big group of people camping under the bridge and was able to play in the water for as long as we wanted! I remember spending the whole day swimming in the lake until it got dark, then we would ride the boat to the other side of the lake to dance the night away to one of our friends' band. He would leave our camp early at night to go set up for his show and we would meet his there a couple hours later. It was wonderful! I remember my step-brother getting stung on the lip by a bee that was hiding in his drink can... He looked like Bubba from Forest Gump... He hated me making fun of him but I couldn't help it! haha

I want my daughters to have fun summer memories. I only have a few childhood memories that I can truly remember but I'm hoping that I can gain many more as an adult. My daughters deserve it.... even though they get introuble alot... they still deserve to have fun!

I want to take them fishing soon. I use to go fishing with my daddy-paw ALL the time! He would take my aunt and I to our Paws house and we would go fishing for HUGE gold fish in the creek. It was so fun and I loved all the time I got to spend with my awesome daddy-paw! My daughters have only been fishing a couple times and only one of those times was with my daddy-paw. Maybe this summer I can try and get everyone together and go on a family fishing trip so my daughters and spend time with my daddy-paw and their cousins that we don't see very often.

Below are some photos of Loran and Jade on a fishing trip they took with their daddy and a family friend a couple years ago.

I love how they're barley holding the tiny fish tails!! haha

The one thing I'm not looking forward to once Summer gets here is not having the daily week-day baby sitter for my kids called School :-)

Don't get me wrong, I love having my kids home with me but I don't have anyone to watch my kids if I have something important to do. School is my only ME time..... That's one of the reasons that I stay up late at night... It's quiet and no one yelling "MOMMY!"

I wonder how much Summer Camp is..... :-)
