My Review of Root Beauty Deodorant

If your a natural momma or just someone who enjoys using eco-friendly products, you have to check out Root Beauty.

Root Beauty is an organic skin care line dedicated to quality products that are toxic-free. Their goal is to make sure everyone has happy and healthy skin.

I got the opportunity to try out Root Beauty's natural deodorant a few weeks ago. I have to admit that I wasn't sure how I was going to like the deodorant because I had never used a natural deodorant before.

There's a first time for everything! Right?

When I received my package from Root Beauty I was excited to start trying it out. At first I got confused... like I said I had never used a natural deodorant before so I wasn't expecting it to be in a little jar. It took me a few minutes before I figured out how I was going to apply the deo, with my fingers of course!

Root Beauty Deodorant smells wonderful! I can't quiet place what kind of smell it is but you can tell that it's natural. It just has that natural smell. If you've ever smelt natural products then you'll know what I mean.

I've wore my Root Beauty plenty of times and it works amazingly. I wasn't sure at first because sometimes I sweet more than others and I always worry when I start feeling wetness. But with Root Beauty, I completely forgot to worry! I know how crazy that sounds but I never felt any wetness and I wasn't self-conscious! I'd say that would mean that Root Beauty passed the test and gets

an A from this momma!

My only advice for you is that you keep your Root Beauty Deodorant in a cool place so it don't melt. If it does melt then just put it in a cool place and it will turn into a solid before you know it. (Mine melted a couple times) And I think I'm going to try and apply it with a makeup sponge the next time I wear my Root Beauty. I believe it might work pretty well!

I enjoy all kinds of music. I like to listen to country when I'm in the car but if I'm at home then I listen to just about anything. I have my days where I get into a dancing mood and I turn on some Hip-Hop and Rap. I've also been known to listen to punk and pretty much anything that I feel like listing to.

It all depends on what kind of mood I'm in.

My oldest, Loran, was having trouble concentrating at school and her reading grades were starting to drop. Loran is a very smart child and she can read very well. Mine is Washing dishes but lately it's been folding clothes. Our washer and dryer has been broken and we recently got new ones but since our old washer and dryer were broken for so long... Our clothes started piling up because we wasn't able to afford to go to the laundry mat very often. So now I have soooo much catching up to do that it's extremely overwhelming!

So many people suffer from those hard little patched of built up skin called calluses. When a body part continually rubs against something, the tender skin forms a protective barrier of hard skin to protect the area that it feels is in danger of an injury. The hands and feet are the most common place for calluses to form. You can get ride of them, but it does take time.

There are even a few inexpensive and natural homemade remedies to help get rid of calluses along with a few for corns as well.

Licorice Paste:

It is said that Licorice paste contains estrogen-like substances that have the ability to soften the hard skin of calluses and corns.

-- To make Licorice Paste - Grind up 2 or 3 licorice sticks and add ½ teaspoon of petroleum jelly to the licorice mixture and rub the paste onto your rough problem areas.

Sugar Scrubs:

Place ¾ cup of granulated sugar in a dry jar and start adding mineral oil, while mixing, until you have a loose paste. Once your paste mixture is made, you have the option to adding essential oils (Lavender, Lilac, Peppermint, etc.) Mix everything together very well.

-- Use the Sugar Scrub by gently massaging it onto your skin in the shower or bath. It does wonders if you add it to your weekly routine. Not only does it work to help soften and heal calluses but it makes your skin super smooth after uses!

(Massage it onto your legs before shaving for a relaxing experience with soft and smooth after effect)

Temporarily Relieve the sharp pains of corns:

Soak your foot/feet, in a solution of Epsom salt and warm water for a few minutes. Afterwards, apply a moisturizing cream and wrap the foot in a plastic bag to hold in the moisture. Keep the bag on for a couple hours. (While watching tv or reading, etc) Remove the bag and gently rub the corn in a sideways motion with a pumice stone  Remember that this will only be a temporary solution and you will need to seek further care if the pain gets to bad to handle.

Chamomile Soak:

It is said that if you soak your feet in diluted Chamomile Tea  that it can be very soothing and will temporarily change the pH of the skin to help dry out your feet. The tea will stain your feet, but it will easily wash off with soap and water.

I've never tried this before but a close friend told me that it really works! It's worth a try right?!

Pineapple Peel and Oils:

Cut strips of a pineapple peel and completely cover the callus. Tape the pineapple peel in place and leave it on for a couple hours. Repeat this step everyday for a week, changing when necessary. The Enzymes and Acid content of the fresh pineapple will help to remove the callus. You can also apply several oils to the callused area several times daily including; wheat germ oil, castor oil, sesame oil, coconut oil and olive oil onto the callused area.

School will be out for most kids in less that 2 months!! I can't believe it!

Are you planning a Family Vacation for this summer?

I would love to have set plans to do something fun and exciting with my kids but with my fiance's busy work schedule, it's hard to plan a big vacation. I'm hoping that we're able to squeeze in atleast one big trip. I want to make all the memories with my girls that I can while they're still little! They're growing up so fast, I can't believe they will be 6 and 7 in just over a month!!
