SeaBuddies Review - Sea Life Cuddling with a Bedtime Glow

Meet the SeaBuddies... the new line from NightBuddies!

Who can forget those 4 lil' cars whose headlight eyes glow in the dark with a gentle squeeze & helps our little ones drift off to dreamland? If you're a regular at.My Kind Of Introduction, then I'm sure you've seen the NightBuddies on either the blog and/or throughout my l social media accounts. I decorate my blog with NightBuddies often since I can't seem to get enough of their extreme cuteness! And as if the "auto-buddies" weren't cute enough... there's now a whole new line of NightBuddies - appropriately named: SeaBuddies, adding 4 new buddies to family. The Sea Life NightBuddies include: a sea turtle, a dolphin, a blue whale and a black & white killer whale. Like the originals, the eyes glow bright with a simple squeeze of their tummies, lighting up the night as a cuddly night-light.
When the first shipment of SeaBuddies were sewn and shipped to the NightBuddies office, My family was lucky enough to be one of the first people to receive our very own SeaBuddies. My daughters were as excited as can be when 2 Sea Life NightBuddies arrived on our doorstep just a month before Christmas. They couldn't wait to give their SeaBuddies a big squeeze! We received the Sea Turtle, which Loran quickly claimed as her own, while Jade was automatically drawn to the Dolphin. Even though the girls and I had seen photos of what the SeaBuddies were to look like, they were much cuter in person. We ended up moving shortly after the Sea Life NightBuddies arrived & the girls decided to take them to their memaw's house. They've been slept with and played with during each visit to my mamas. Jade & Loran love their SeaBuddies more than words can describe! (They enjoyed their original NightBuddies so much that they pretty much wore them out while my baby cousin's airplane buddie looks almost new!)

Besides having night-light eyes, I love how SeaBuddies are super soft & the perfect size for little arms to cuddle. Did I mention that your child can activate the lights, by squeezing the buddy's belly, as many times as it takes for your little ones to fall asleep?! Pretty awesome, don't you agree?

The NightBuddies collection is perfect for any child that prefers an extra bit of light during bedtime.

Honestly ... NightBuddies are amazing! Running across them, & eventually partnering up with the NightBuddies creator, is one of my proudest moments of my blogging career & most definitely one of my best decisions! Gift shopping just got alot easier when it comes to buying for younger kids! (Safe for ages 2+)

Receiving no less than a "Capital A" for an Amazingly Awesome bedtime cuddle toy!!

Learn more about SeaBuddies and the original NightBuddies online!

Available on Amazon! online.

Not Potty Trained - Not trying!

love reading, but sometimes I have to be in the mood for reading or the book has to be extremely interesting before I can spend alot of time with a book in my hand.
I’ve been reading a bit more than normal here lately and I’ve come to realize that I have a lot more time on my hands since my kids are out of town. The book I’ve been getting into is called The Honest Toddler: A Child’s Guide to Parenting. It’s actually very funny and I’m surprised that I’ve gotten into it as much as I have. I’m normally more of a Fantasy Book kind of girl but The Honest Toddler is a one of a kind book that I have a hard time putting down! One of my favorite things about the book is the letters written to and from “The Honest Toddler” along with the Homework assignments that HT likes to give. It’s not your normal homework either…. It’s stuff like:

  • “Slow down on the bad ideas”

or one of my favs…

  • ”Go to the grocery store with your child at 5:30pm. When the loud response starts, scream, “EVERYONE SHUT UP, I NEED TO HELP MY CHILD.” - Then open four large bags of chips and a juice box. Let your child feast.”

How fun does that grocery store assignment sound? I bet I would have LOTS of odd looks coming my way but I would be laughing to hard to notice and my kids would be chowing down on the chips J Truthfully, so would I!!

While glancing  at the back of The Honest Toddler, I learned that the book was based on Bunmi Laditan’s (the author) youngest daughter. The description of The Honest Toddler made me giggle -- Not potty trained, not trying, enjoys attention, cake, television, running and games.  Reminds me of my girls a few years ago. Their not toddlers anymore but we still have many “loud responses” (HT‘s replacement for Tantrums) in stores, at home and wherever else my daughters decide to let it all out at.  While reading the book, I actually did realize that even though I may be taking advice from a “Toddler”, I do need to calm down on my yelling and start realizing that I am the problem a lot of the times when I jus happen to get upset with my girls are blame them for something that I NOW know… is my fault. I enjoyed reading The Honest Toddler: A Child’s Guide to Parenting more than I thought I would. Like mentioned above, I couldn't get enough of the Homework and the letters written to and from HT (Honest Toddler) are hilarious! One of my favorite letters is:

Dear Honest Toddler.
Do you know where I can find toddler-sized ‘80s rock band concert tees? I’m trying to look worldly.
Sincerely, Trying Hard in West Virginia

  • The response from the Honest Toddler:

Dear Trying,
Your toddler is not a living memorial to your interest. You’re embarrassing yourself.
Love, HT

HT even gives her opinion on Amber Necklaces, Potty Training and many other things that parents (including myself) like to believe is right and/or helps our child, when in reality…. Most of them are just a waste of money and time. HT has a strong opinion on the life of raising a young child and even if your child is no longer a toddler, I recommend you read The Honest Toddler: A Child’s Guide to Parenting! I guarantee that you will not only pee yourself due to extreme laughter but you will learn something as well! The Honest Toddler gets a BIG Thumbs up from me and it has done wonders when it came to keeping my mind off my daughters being at their MawMaws this past week! I couldn’t of asked for a better read!

Valentine's Day Heart Dog Craft for Kids!

This post may contain affiliate links
Special price for Valentine's day from Feb.09th-14th

Do you ever find yourself with a few extra minutes in the day and want to find something cute, fast and easy to do with the kids? Well since Valentine's Day is creeping near, I found this Heart Doggie Art that is just simply adorable! This would also make a good project for teachers of young kids to do in class!

All you need is 3 pieces of construction paper, glue and scissors!

Pick a main color and cut out 2 matching big Hearts. (We used Red)

Choose which color you would like to use for your background (We used White)

Cut 4 matching smaller hearts out of the remaining colored paper (We used Black)
Cut one more heart slightly smaller than the 4 you just cut, out of the same color paper.
Also cut out a tail shape out of the same color paper you used for the small hearts.

You can use circle pieces of paper for eyes or googly eyes

Glue everything together like the photo ------>

Glue the bottom big heart down first and add the 2nd big heart on top of it. The bottom points up. 2 smaller hearts go on the bottom as paws and 2 more go on the top for ears. The last little heart goes in the middle for the nose. All you gotta do to finish off this cute little heart dog is add the eyes and tail!

QUICK, EASY AND FUN!!!
ENJOY!!!

2. Add 2 Cups of water and Turn up the Heat.

3.Mix together until it starts to get thick.

4. Pour into Different Cups and Add colored drink mixes or Food Coloring until you get the shade you like.
