Tearing Up with ClubDaddy -- My Fiance's Story

Earlier this year, I did a promotion for DaddyScrubs on my blog. (I did a review and giveaway of their signature product... the DaddyScrubs themselves!) I got the chance to pick out a pair of the scrubs for Alan and let him review them for me. The girls LOVED it when he wore his green DaddyScrubs with the words “I'm The Daddy” printed on the back! I ended up taking a photo of Alan and the girls in the field across the street, with the girls pointing and showing excitement toward their daddy's new outfit! I sent the photo to my contact for DaddyScrubs and ended up getting a reply saying that they would love to add Alan to ClubDaddy! I wasn't sure what exactly that meant except that the photo was going to be added to their albums and shared with their fans on social media (mainly Facebook). I also received a couple interview questions that Alan was suppose to answer that we completely forgot about (I'll have him answer the interview questions soon, even though it's very late. I'll just post his answers on my blog instead of sending them to DaddyScrubs since they would be about a month overdue!!) Realizing that I forgot about the interview questions, I received an email that said my package has been sent.... I got confused but quickly got side tracked and DaddyScrubs didn't cross my mind again until Alan walked up to me one day with a box asking if I had ordered something for him that he wasn't suppose to know about! I had no clue what was in that box and was extremely surprised when Alan started opening it! Not only did I tear up (like always) but Alan did too! Being appreciated for all the hard work he puts in for our family, really touched him! He has 5 kids, including our 2 daughters. CW is 14, MJ is 10, Bre is 11(who we NEVER see and probably won't for MANY years! That's a different post for another day...), Loran will be 7 in less than 2 weeks and then there's Jade who just turned 6! Even though Alan don't get to see his boys as much he likes, they both know that their daddy loves them. I couldn't of chosen a better father for my daughters! He's truly a wonderful man in many different ways!

Our Family
(A couple years ago - We need to take a new one soon!)

Read below to hear what Alan thought of his package, in his own words:

“About a week or so ago I came in from work not having the greatest day but it wasn't a BAD day... it could have been worse. I was home for a couple hours when the UPS man came knocking at the door. I figured it was something for Autumn since she gets packages all the time, but she was in the back room, so I opened the door. To my surprise, the big box was for me! I went and asked Autumn if she had ordered anything that I wasn't suppose to know about since I knew I hadn't ordered anything lately. She said No and we checked the label to see who the package was from. It was from DaddyScrubs. I got put into a daddy club somehow, not sure how but I did. In the box I found a certificate saying “Any man can be a father, but it takes someone special to be a Daddy!“ Along with the certificate came a pair of sunglasses, a coffee cup, a $10 gift card, a water bottle and 2 bracelets from DaddyScrubs. It made my day a lot better, I even teared up a couple times through out the afternoon. I was so happy that I ran down the hill to one of my neighbors house, that I am pretty good friends with, and told them all about it. It was one of the best days I have had in my life, made me feel like a million bucks. The bracelets have been on my wrist ever since I got the package. Not many people see everything I do for my family. I bust my butt working 2 jobs just to try to make ends meet and sometimes it don't feel like anyone notices. So this made me feel very happy to see that someone sees I am. To me, I am the best father out there! Still over a week later and I still smile when I look down and see my bracelets or when I walk in the house and see my certificate. I placed it on my wall in a spot to where I can see when I walk in my house or when I am on my couch. It really made me feel a lot better about being a parent. Glad to see that some people want to recognize fathers, for once!”

"All About Daddy" -- My DaddyScrubs Review

When it comes to new babies, daddy's seem to be left out of most of the excitement. They may get a few congratulations here and there but for the most part, the women are the ones who get 90% of the new baby attention. Being a mom of 2, I remember the baby showers and excitement that everyone was showing toward me but not much of that attention was being thrown toward my fiance. My family would joke around about how this baby was going to be crazy because it was a mix of him and myself and things like that but never once did he get a daddy to be gift like all the baby presents I received at my many baby showers. (My parents are divorced so I had  2 showers for each baby along with gifts waiting on me in Lenoir, NC from my fiance's family)

While I was pregnant with my first daughter, both of my mom's sisters also became pregnant with their first child. The 3 of us were the stars of the family... All pregnant with baby girls and all due just months apart! The baby showers came and gone and the only attention the daddy's got were being told to carry the gifts to the car and then carry them into our house.
At that time, I didn't realize that my fiance wasn't getting any 'new baby attention'. Looking back, I realize now that most of the attention was aimed toward me. The same thing with my second child. Most of the attention was toward me, but once again, I didn't notice a thing.

I didn't start realizing the lack of attention fathers get when a new baby comes along until this past year. I would be searching the web and see all kinds of posts and ads for expecting moms and started thinking... What about expecting dads?

So I did some research and realized that they are not many retailers that cater to new dads. You can always find websites, stores, groups etc for new moms but nothing for the fathers.... Until now!

I found a wonderful site called DaddyScrubs, a company that caters to new dads in many different ways with lots of new dad gifts. The founder of DaddyScrubs wanted to be included in the birth of his child and since everyone else in the delivery room were going to have their own special outfit.... he wanted one too! Watch this video to see why Robert Nickell started DaddyScrubs.

If your looking for unique expectant father gifts then DaddyScrubs is the place for you!

At DaddyScrubs you can find all kinds of cool stuff like books about 'daddy and me', Daddy gift sets, The Daddy Diaper Box, mugs and much more! Many celebrity's have worn DaddyScrubs on their special day along with wearing the shirts, hats and hoodies for all their friends to see how proud they are to be a daddy!

Their trademark is, of course... DaddyScrubs!

The DaddyScrubs are doctor like scrubs that daddy's to be can wear on the big day! This is the perfect gift for any expectant dad new or experienced.

I got the chance to review a set of DaddyScrubs and since my fiance didn't get the 'New Daddy' Attention that he should of gotten when I was pregnant, I gave the set of DaddyScrubs to him. The scrubs come in Navy, Green and Khaki. I chose Edgy Green in a size medium. It didn't take long before the DaddyScrubs were send to me.

I was very excited to see my DaddyScrubs package arrive at my door on my fiance's birthday!!!  He wasn't home when they arrived so I was able to surprise him with his new pair of DaddyScrubs as soon as he walked in the door. His face lit up when I handed him the package, then he headed to the room to try them on.
On the back of the shirt, in big white letters says "I'm the Daddy!" What better way to show support and love for your kids then to tell the world that your a dad and proud of it?

Our family likes to be comfy, I'm more of a Jammie, Yoga pants, flowy dress wearing type of girl and my fiance likes his comfy clothes aswell. I was not surprised at all when Alan wore his DaddyScrubs for the rest of the day. We had a cookout for his birthday and a couple of close friends came over. Alan got a few compliments about his DaddyScrubs and everyone enjoyed them. Our little girls loved them the most!

Once the night was over, I asked him how the scrubs felt on him and if he liked them or not. Alan had never worn scrubs before so he wasn't sure what to expect when he first put them on but they were much better than he expected. He said that they were very comfy and not stiff like he thought scrubs felt like. We are truly happy with Alan's new DaddyScrubs and he ended up sleeping in them that night. Alan has actually slept in his DaddyScrubs a few times and wears them around the house and when he's out and about.

He loves his new DaddyScrubs. I would of really liked to of had these when our daughters were born! Maybe someday down the road..... Years from now, we may decided to have another baby and he will get to wear his DaddyScrubs at the hospital. But I don't plan on that ANY TIME SOON! :-)

Now we're just waiting on DaddyScrubs to come out with some Red or Black scrubs!
I also have 2 baby showers coming up... I need to do some shopping!

DaddyScrubs Bag O Books Giveaway

This Review/Giveaway is hosted by The Momma And Boys!

Every night at bedtime the boys get a bedtime story read to them.  It is the perfect time for bonding & winding down from a crazy day.  DaddyScrubs offers great products for fathers and their bonding time with the kids.  My family and I had the opportunity to review the Bag O Books from DaddyScrubs.

My 3 boys loved sitting with Daddy before bed and hearing him read a story. It's great seeing all my boys sitting down and enjoying time together.

After story time with Daddy they were so excited that they had to make sure they gave him big hugs and then hurried off to bed to be tucked in!

DaddyScrubs is a great company.  They have great daddy to be gifts or even new dad gifts! Daddy's don't get enough attention during pregnancy so this is a wonderful idea to help bring daddy's into the baby-shower fun!

Disclaimer: The Momma And Boys has received the product as a gift to do a review and giveaway and all opinions are from The Momma And Boys! The Momma And Boys and My Kind Of Introduction is not responsible for shipping of the product.

Daddy's-To-Be need Presents too!!

Don't Leave out the Daddy!

When someone announces that they are having a baby, one of the first things people do is run out and buy the Mother-to-be or baby a gift. Not many people think about getting something for the Daddy-to-be. Some of the guys might get together and take the expectant dad out to get some drinks but that's bout it. How about buying the daddy a present also!! Baby showers are the perfect place to give the Daddy-to-be his present since the Mommy is already getting all of hers! Here are a few ideas that I have found.

"I'm The Daddy" Boxers from Daddyscrubs.com for $21.95
 A Pinstripe Dad-To-Be Set from Uncommongoods.com for $125.00

Or you can make this cute Bucket by yourself!

because its his baby too.

This is a wonderful idea! I can't wait to try it out, I'm defiantly waiting to hear that someone is pregnant now! I agree that the Daddy's-To-Be are always left out of the whole excitement of the new baby! I bet my fiance would of loved to of gotten one of these little Daddy Kits! I may even make him one for the kids now...If I ever decided to have a Mommy's Night-Out! (I'll let you know what I come up with for that one!) The Daddy Doody Kit is cute but I'm not to sure about adding the gloves, goggles, face-mask, or the tongs. Daddy's may not be perfect "moms" but most of them do know how to take care of their baby. I like the joke of the clothes pin though! I remember that some of those diapers do get super stinky! Let me know if you try this out! I would LOVE to see pictures!

Found at www.livingeventfully.com

my keen eye for detail has picked up on a trend.
the daddy to be always gets left out.
unless its a co-ed shower...but in 9 out of 10 cases, its not.
mommy to be gets showered with a lovely party, sentiments, gifts and delicious food.
daddy to be gets to pick her up at the end of her shower acting as a pack mule...
loading the car(s) up with the never ending pile of goods from babies r us.
then unloading it all at the house, usually by himself.
good times.
i wanted to create something fun so the awaiting father could be included!
i usually have the dad to be arrive at the tail end of the shower while gifts are still being opened.
then i hand them this.
"a daddy doody kit"
i purchased the clear paint pail at a craft store.
they are about $5.00.
for the "open in case of emergency" tag
i used an all cap font in red printed off my home printer.
I used a large round hole punch to cut it out.
its taped to the top with double sided foam dots.
for the "daddy doody kit" tag i just free hand tore
the paper around the words.
on the side of the pail with the seam,
i added a "contains:" list.
here is what was included in this one:
diapers
diaper rash cream
gloves
goggles (home depot, about $2.50)
face mask (home depot, about $2.00 for 1)
clothes pin for your nose
tongs for diaper disposal
hand sanitizer (travel size)
baby wash (travel size)
wash cloth
baby food
spoon
pacifier
bottle
baby sockies
wipes
(travel size)

Tylenol...for daddy
get creative and personalize it for the guy you are giving it to.
pop the lid back on and its good to go!
