SPRING IS FINALLY HERE!!!!

The weather has FINALLY decided to get "pretty" and STAY that way! It's been in the 70's and 80's all this week and I couldn't be happier! Since we can say Good-Bye to the coldness, It's time to crawl in the dirt and get to work done in our gardens! I'm not going to plant any veggies this year but I do plan on adding some beautiful Morning Glories to my garden, in memory of a special lady who I miss more than anything! I'll take photos once I get to planting!! I can't wait!!

While looking around on Facebook I ran across a post shared from a friend about Homemade Weed Killer. Noone likes weeds mixed in with our flowers and veggies! I know how my fans along with myself, love saving money and being natural when we can, so I posted what I found below.

Homemade Weed Killer:

• 1 gallon of White Vinegar 
• 1/2 cup Salt 
• Liquid Dish Soap without Bleach
• Empty Spray Bottle

Pour salt into the empty spray bottle and fill it the rest of the way up with white vinegar.

Add a 1 squirt of liquid dish soap and gently "swirl" the bottle to mix up.

For best results, Use on a hot day.

Spray the mixture onto weeds in the morning; As the day heats up, your Homemade Weed Killer will get to work!

Please read , the notes

Vinegar: Kills weeds quick with just a couple sprays. Household vinegar is approximately 5% acetic acid concentration which will stop new growth in it's tracks.

-- For best results: Do Not dilute with water and make sure to choose a day/time when rain is no where to be seen.

-- For best results on mature and/or the stubborn varieties: Use a stronger vinegar, like pickling vinegar. (which is about 9%)

Salt: Use Caution When Using Salt in Your Garden!! This is very effective but keep in mind that large amounts of salt will cause damage to the surrounding soil as well. Salt should only be used in places where you want NO plant growth (Including: driveways, walkways, sidewalk cracks, under decks and patio blocks, etc.)

-- Directions For Use: Mix together 1 part salt & 2 parts water. You can also sprinkle salt straight over top.

Salt & Vinegar Recipe: (Read Above Info) Combine 1 1/4 cups of salt with 1 gallon of household vinegar. -- Spray where needed.

Vinegar & Dish Detergent: Fill an empty spray bottle with pickling vinegar and add a 1 or 2 squirts of liquid dish detergent. Spray during the hottest part of the day.

Liquid Dish Detergent: Make a soap solution of 1 part liquid dish detergent to 10 parts water. Soak the weed growth thoroughly.

Boiling Water: Plug in the kettle, Bring water to a boil then pour over top of the weeds! (You end up sending them into shock &"cooking" them to death)

Lemon Juice: Use either straight lemon juice or a 1/2 cup lemon juice mixed with 1 quart household vinegar. This works just about the same as straight vinegar. Lemon juice can be more expensive so use with care or unless you find yourself with more lemon juice than you plan on using.

Popular Homemade Weed Killer Recipe: 1 quart household vinegar, 1/4 cup salt, 2 teaspoons liquid dish detergent (without bleach) Mix together and spray.

Corn Gluten Meal: (Not to be confused with Corn Meal) This is an all natural product that deters weeds spreading by seed, a great source of info regarding this method can be found here: City Of Ottawa (how and when to apply it, etc.). Effective on crabgrass, dandelions, curly dock, knotweed, lambs quarters, pigweed, plantain and others. Can be used on lawns, flowerbeds, bulb beds and vegetable gardens. Make sure to use CGM that is labeled as “pre-emergent herbicide“, stuff from the feedstore doesn’t have enough protein to work. Keep in mind that using CGM affects seed growth for all types of plants, not just those you’re trying to get rid of.

*Helpful Tips*

Many natural remedies and products will not only work, but may also kill the surrounding grass, plants and flowers. When using a recipe, make sure to apply to the weed only.

Keep in mind that liquids will saturate and seep into the ground where roots from your favorite plants may be able to reach.

Use when there is no sign of rain for at least one or two days

Hot sunny weather will give you best results.

For gardens and flower beds, consider laying newspapers and mulch in and around your plants–the weeds will have a difficult time rooting and spreading 

Weed growth can be greatly reduced when using the No Dig method of gardening. The idea is to make a foundation of compost/mulch, then only use soil where you plant... As in - Make a hole in the mulch, Add a handful or two of soil inside then plant the seed!

No I didn't leave the expecting mom out of my gift, I bought her something for the shower aswell, but I didn't want to leave out dad.

My uncle Theo is a big ebay fan so when I saw the shirt option that said - "I didn't lose my mind, I sold it on ebay" - I knew I had to have it!

The bag showed up in a little vanilla colored pouch with a label on the outside! How neat is that! (I forgot to take a picture of it in the tiny bag)

I was very surprised at how much I could fit in the ThrifTee Gear Bags. Since I was using it as a Diaper Bag, I needed it to fit as much as possible  We all know how babies can use alot of things on just one outing.

I was able to put LOTS of baby supplies in the ThrifTee Gear bag including standing a pack of baby-wipes on it's end without any sticking over the top! That's how I knew that putting a baby bottle in the Daddy-Diaper bag wasn't going to be a problem. I added 10 items to the ThrifTee Gear Diaper Bag and it closed with no problems! Why Mom’s Make Great Network Marketers

Many people think of the network marketing industry as being a boy’s club, but

that’s far from the truth. If you take a look at a mom’s daily duties, which I

personally find a lot harder than many men’s routines, it’s extremely similar to

building a network marketing business. In the way that a mom raises her

children, it’s like home schooling for the network marketing industry. The

responsibilities and talents a mother develops while raising children is the same

exact skills you can apply to the business.

Let’s face the facts – most moms are the ones who really have to be the

multi-taskers. They are always prepared, doing laundry, getting kids to various

sporting events, cleaning the house all while changing the little one’s in diapers,

talking on the phone, and any other task that needs to be done. And, if they’re a

network marketer, they’re probably closing a prospect on the phone while all of

this is going on.

Being a great multi-tasker is the key to building a home-based business. Not only

are moms great multi-taskers, I also believe they make the best sales people.

Moms are always the one who give the final go ahead and make all of the “sales”

in the family. How many times have you been told to “go ask your mother”? Many

times in the network marketing industry, companies will tell you it’s not sales.

Well, as soon as money exchanges hands, it’s a sale. They say this because

many people think they can’t sell so they steer clear of the industry. But the truth

is most people are actually really great at sales, especially moms. Some of my

best network marketing training is in the area of sales.

Think about this: Johnny tries to convince his mom to stay up an extra hour at

night, but Mom comes back and sells Johnny on if he finished his homework he

can stay up for an additional 30 minutes. Then Johnny sells Mom on why having

the full hour is important if he finishes his homework. This interaction continues

between mom and child from the day he can talk to the day they leave the house

(and sometimes even further into life!). When a baby cries to get what he wants

from his mother (an act of selling), the mom sells them on being quiet by rocking

them.

The mom has had to become an expert in sales from the time their children are

born. The children train their mother to become better in every area of life.

Because of this, the mother will dominate in MLM prospecting and MLM

recruiting.

Not only are moms great strategists, they can also solve problems better than

anyone and they can do it in an empathetic way. This is a great skill for a network

marketer to have as it helps develop them into strong leaders because they are

able to earn the trust of their network and can grow their business at a rapid rate.

When the mother goes out and acquires further network marketing training the

sky is the limit.

Moms are able to handle any problem that arises -- no toilet paper and company

will be arriving in 15 minutes? Then husband calls and says he’s going to be

late? Don’t worry she’s on it! Moms are great problem solvers because problems

are constantly turning up at every corner. Building a network marketing business,

or really any kind of business, is all about problem solving.

I think the most important trait a mom can bring to the network marketing industry

is their no-quitting-attitude. They are willing to keep going and do whatever it

takes to make it. Just like raising a child… a mother will do any and everything

she can to give them the best life possible. They bring this no-quitting-attitude

with them wherever they go. This is one of the hardest traits for people to

develop but it’s essential for being successful. Will Smith talks about having a

no-quitting-attitude.

Of course, we can’t forget about how much moms love to talk. To make money in

anything we have to spread the word, we have to market ourselves and our

products. Moms already have a built in marketing machine. Moms were born to

network and become great at MLM coaching. They are constantly telling their

friends about anything they like and have no qualm about saying so. Heck, they

will tell everybody in line at the grocery store about what they like! How about

that movie they saw last night? Hope you didn’t want to see it… she’ll tell you the

end! What about her great home-based business she’s in? Don’t worry, she’ll tell

you everything you need to know about it. This is a trait men do not innately

have. Men stand in line with their arms crossed looking all cool while the mom

talks to everyone all while making money. The only problem is moms get so

caught up in talking about all of the great products, they forget to get a referral.

But once they figure this out, they are able to dominate the business circle and

master MLM prospecting and MLM recruiting.

In Rohit Bhargava’s new book, “15 Marketing Trends for 2013,” he says the ideal

future will be lead by women. He says men and women are not equal; women

are better. Women will become the new role models and will pioneer many startup

businesses. Many companies will foster leadership from within and several of

these leadership positions will be women.

There is no doubt the world of business is changing and it’s definitely a very

exciting time for women and mom entrepreneurs.

To all of you moms, keep up the great work! Go out and pursue your dreams…

Ever since my daughters brought up having an Art Show to sale their paintings, I've been thinking about how I could turn their Art Show into something to help others.

I think I've got it!

My girls are always wanting to help people so I've decided to make a list of causes and charities that mean something to our family. I'm going to be selling their Art work for $1 a piece. I'm going to try and get some of them uploaded on Etsy tonight or tomorrow.

I was also able to open a store full of Unique and Modern House-ware, Art, Fashion and sooooooooo much more!

All money earned will be split between Charities, My Kind Of Introduction and other events dear to my family.

Our Painting Fun!

While painting... My daughters asked me if they can have an art show soon. I thought is was a wonderful idea! They decided that they wanted to make a video (They've made a few before, I'll upload them to my YouTube Channel soon)
