Asheville Easter Egg Hunts in 2013 - Updated



It's Spring!!! It's time for everyone to start planning for that special visit from The Easter Bunny. I live in Asheville, NC and their are always fun things going on downtown during any holiday and Easter is no different.
I've been looking for the Easter Egg hunts announcements online and I've noticed that not many are posted the events yet. I've found a few and they are posted below.

Location - In the Middle of Downtown Asheville at the Roger McGuire Green 
Address - 1 West Pack Square
When - March 30th
Times - 2-5pm
Cost - FREE

Easter on the Green has become an annual favorite of many Asheville residents. The Easter Bunny will be there and will be available for visits and photos along with lots of activities that will be taking place. There will be golden eggs with prizes, lots of freebies, an easter egg hunt, inflatable rides, games, obstacle course, parade, egg roll, crafts and much more. Cotton Candy, popcorn and snacks will be available as well.
This will be a wonderful family friendly event. It's has become a city favorite annual event - all organized by the Asheville Downtown Association.

Location - Biltmore Estate

When - March 31, 2013
Times - 11am, 1pm, 3pm

The Easter Rabbit makes his annual appearance on Biltmore’s Front Lawn on Easter Sunday, along with special children’s entertainment including magic shows, music and storytelling. Highlighting the day are the grand Easter Egg Hunts at 11 a.m., 1 and 3 p.m. Children from ages 2 to 9 may attend the hunt for free when accompanied by an estate pass holder or a ticketed adult. Day-of registration is required. Bring your own basket or bag to collect eggs.




Location - McDowell House Museum
Address - on AB-Tech Campus, 283 Victoria Road
When - Sunday, March 24th 2013
Times - 2-4pm
Cost - $5 per child - Adults Free with your Child

The event will be a BYOB (Bring your own basket) Come and Enjoy singing, games, egg hunts and more, all on the lawn of the Smith McDowell House and Museum (on the AB-Tech Campus). The Easter Bunny is expected to make an appearance and snacks will be available. There will be 100's of eggs, and a chance to find the golden egg, as well as many small prizes in many of the eggs. Younger children will have a separate egg-hunting area.
Reservations are recommended and may be made by calling 828 253-9231, or send an email to education@wnchistory.org.
The Smith McDowell House Museum has some of the coolest events and are always high in quality. Also, if you would like to learn more about the history of Asheville, this is a great place to do it at!

  2. “NAK” (North Asheville Kids) would like to invite your family to the NAK Epic Egg Drop, Saturday, March 30th in Weaverville. A Hot Air Balloon will drop 10,000 Easter eggs. There will be separate drops for each age group; preschool, K-1st, 2nd-3rd, and 4th-5th grades, so that each child will have a chance to gather lots of eggs. There will be great prizes, a chance to win a tethered balloon ride, inflatables and every child will leave with a goody bag full of treats.
